Loma Linda University Medical Center New Grad 2011

Published

Has anyone applied for Loma Linda's new grad program? I heard its starting next month but I have no idea if they even started interviewing people. I keep calling but no one is giving me an answer.

Has anyone heard from any unit besides heme/onc?

Anyone else happen to be going to interview with heme/onc tomorrow? If there is, come say hi! I'll be the one awkwardly trying to breathe because I jammed myself into a dress that is just a little too tight. (I did put an effort into finding a suit...but I had no luck and just gave up.) :uhoh3:

Good luck littleguccipiggy! Hope the interview goes well. I'm sending good ohms your way. :)

Good luck to everybody interviewing!

Thanks everyone! I hate behavioural questions!!! The one that stumped me was the "describe a time during your clinical experience that made you happy" and half an hour later I thought of a really good answer! BOOO. BOOO to behavioural questions! But here's how the how Loma Linda process is going - heme/onc is still getting interviews scheduled so I'm sure the other units are too. You interview with the manager/nurse educator for your unit. Unless your manager gets "detained" and you have to interview with the charge nurse who has no clue who your are. The person from HR that also does interviews is on vacation, so everyone who's interviewing this week and next week has to come back for the HR interview. And THEN HR and the mangers will decide amongst the pool of interviewees who they will select. They have this whole points system thing going on with the interviews. But overall it felt very rushed and everyone kept pawing me off on someone else...when I wasn't waiting in the parent lounge..."No more questionsoknicemeetingyoubye!" :uhoh3: But whatever...I now have an answer to the what clinical experience makes me happy. :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3:

hey everyone, this is my first time posting on this thread but thought i'd share with you that i got a call last friday to interview july 13th. i was told that i'd be interviewing with 3 different ppl, 30 min with each. i can only assume it's with one person (unit manager/educator) from each unit i applied to. i had applied to picu, acute care, and intermediate icu. good luck to everyone! if anyone has any suggestions on the type of interview questions they'll be asking i'd greatly appreciate it :)

you actually won't be interviewing with the manager/nurse educator with each unit. unless otherwise stated you should be interviewing with the unit that was your #1 choice. you should be interviewing with the manager and nurse educator for your unit along with someone from hr. all of the questions they ask you are behavioural.

Thanks for the information!

I want them to call me for an interview!!! :D

Has anyone heard from any other departments other than heme/oncology, NICU, and PICU. I was hoping to hear from cardiac/solid organ transplant, but nothing yet....

I get the impression that it is rather unorganized at Loma Linda. Or there is no communication between HR and the managers. When I was there, I was told I would be contacted for the HR interview sometime between late June/early July. I even told my interviewers that it was important to know when my HR interview would happen because I'm going to be presenting at a conference. Knowing my luck they'll call me when I'm at the conference. :banghead:

It's weird that some people haven't heard from any departments or gotten a rejection email. This is after we "heard" that everything was going to be done by mid-June. So I really wonder how this whole process works. But if you think about it, the Residency doesn't even start until August. Oh well, hopefully we all hear something soon so we don't have to remain hung up on this. :)

Anyone have any updates on Loma Linda? It's like everything was moving forward and then all of a sudden the whole thing just stopped.

Curious???
