Loma Linda RN Residency LLUCH - September 2017

Published

Hello Everyone!

Chances are that if you are reading this, you've recently applied to the RN Residency program at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. In the weeks to come, we can keep each other in the loop regarding the application process and hopefully get to know one another as future members of the September 2017 cohort.

I'm praying for a clear path for all of us~

Got an email today that my app was forwarded to the nurse manager :)

Great news! Hope this means things are starting to happen and we can all start to hear soon :)

Pretty disappointed. I just called the recruiter and she told me that she forwarded only applications of people who are within a 20 mile radius, and if hiring managers would like more applications, then she will start to send more. I have never heard of applicants being picked for review based off proximity to the hospital. Any of you heard something like this?

This is the first I've heard of that being part of the selection criteria though I'm sure at some point a person's location comes into consideration, depending on the situation, of course. I pray things work out for all of us.

^ I also heard that it is based on proximity. However, one of my friends who used her SF address was still able to get an email saying that her application was forwarded to a nurse manager.

lol well I listed my SF address and was told that I wasn't close enough. She also mentioned that there are PCA's who currently work on the unit and are "next in line". From what I'm hearing, I'm not a fan of the way applicants are chosen. Residency programs are extremely competitive and I think most all of us are willing to relocate, so location should not a deciding factor, we work so hard on our cover letter/resume!!

I received an email stating my application has been forwarded to the hiring manager. I do not live within 20 miles. I live about 70 miles away currently . I hope this info helps. I would stay positive and hopeful. Hope you all here something soon. : )

Hey Shelly, where are you thinking of working the most in terms of which hospital? I've seen you in almost all the new grad programs haha. I had my interview with Rady's already, but CHOC is my top choice so it's between CHOC, Rady, and LLU for me.

Hi all~ I spoke to the assistant to the nurse recruiter yesterday and she was kind enough to confirm that those of us who have yet to receive emails aren't necessarily out of the running per se. I can't comment on much else but wanted to offer this info for those feeling discouraged. Stay hopeful! I'm praying we all land positions in units where we can best serve others.

I applied to Peds step-down and received an email saying my application had been forwarded to the unit manager. Has anyone started to receive phone calls for interviews yet?

I found the hiring timeline for LLUCH... Starting today, they will contact candidates for interviews

Has anyone heard anything? I applied to acute pediatrics and still haven't heard and neither has a friend that applied to total birth. I have only heard of the cardiac unit who has already interviewed and decided on their applicants. Trying to stay hopeful!
