Loma Linda BSN Winter 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I just found out that my application was unfortunately denied for Fall 2019 because I didn't take the Critical Thinking test. I took the TEAS at a different testing center and all programs I've seen only required to take the TEAS, so I wasn't aware that there was a second pre-admission test. So, my application is being moved to Winter. Anyways, I was just wondering, how long does it usually take to get an acceptance/rejection letter from the school after submitting an application?

There is a $200 deposit required for accepted applicants. It may be to weed out those who are serious about the program and/or applied to and preferred another colleges. I can see how there would be many waitlisters accepted due to this.

I got a call back from Dora today. I’m waited listed for winter quarter, but got guaranteed admission for spring. A colleague of mine got a call today as well.

I don’t think they notify the applicants in a particular order.

I also got waitlisted and guaranteed a spring 2020 seat.

Why were you waitlisted? Did it have anything to do with scores GPA etc??

Congratulations on those who were accepted! I am also in for Winter 2020. Have any of you guys received information on what class we need to register for? I have complete the registration requirement. Just wonder on the class that we would need to register for. Thanks in advance.

Are they allowing you to register already? I had seen a notification that said that registration wasn't available for Winter 2020 yet....I don't know if they are going to set the schedule for us or if we have to, but if you look in the course schedule for W2020, the presence or absence of prereqs pretty much gives you an idea of which classes are taken first (ie: nursing fundamentals, professionalism in nursing, etc.)

UPDATE: The registration page states that registration begins December 2.

No, there are not allowing for registration yet. I think it said it will open up on Dec. 2, but if you going into the application status web page it has to links (Registration Portal and New student portal) with requirements that have to get done before you can register. Those were what I was thinking basing it off the curriculum that they have online. I was just wondering to arrange my personal schedule to might their's might be.

If you visit the School of nursing, BS in nursing page, there is a link called "curriculum" click on it and it gives a run down of classes by quarter. There is also the "courses" page that you can pick by subject, program, class etc. then you pick the quarter and it gives the times and days of each class.

Hi, I’m starting the LLU BSN program this fall 2020. I was wondering where any of you guys got your student loans from (apart from federal) like what banks did you ask? Or how did you even get the private student loans? ?

Hi,

I only got federal loan and one from the LLUSN. I have not taken out a private loan however financial aid office might help you with that. Before I started the program I looked into Sallie Mae and I was not amused by the offer. I would have to end up paying double the amount I would have borrowed. I hope this helps.

Hi! thanks for replying! So are you paying the rest of tuition/books/expenses out of pocket? What quarter are you going into this fall? Do you think you may need to take out private loans in the future? ? @yadira39

Hey again! Yes, I am paying the rest out of pocket. I will be going into my 3rd quarter this fall. Give me you email so that I can email you some stuff. I am hoping not to get a private loan in the future, but there is a great person who is in charge of the finances at the school who is willing to help student find their best options. You will meet her during your 1st quarter. @Pumpkinspice2020

OK great! ? My email is [email protected]

Thank you! @yadira39
