LLU WINTER 2012

Published

Just wanted to check who else was applying to LLU for winter 2012 start. Not sure how competitive this application period is, but i heard they only accept 54 students. Does anyone have pending preq's as well?

I would definitely try for spring. From what I understand spring is the least competitive quarter to get into. See if they recommend reading your teas exam again, if you are looking into other schools look into national university, they are located in LA and have a program starting in may. They are based on a point system but its a lot simpler so its easier to be a competitive candidate.. that was my other choice of school. good luck and best wishes!

I have so many things to do lol. immunizations, accept loan offers, get my cpr/first aid, and final transcripts because I still have classes in progress. But i'll be commuting i live 15min away from loma linda.

Do they require a cpr/first aid certification to begin the courses? I am looking at the new student portal and all it says I have left to do is immunizations and my final transcripts once this semester is over. Is there a spot on the student portal that has paperwork for the certifications to turn in, like there is for immunizations? Just checking because I don't want to skip something important. thanks!:o

Also does anyone know if we will be getting a packet in the mail too? I was wondering if we will get our new student list of stuff to buy after we register for classes or before? Just wondering because I would like to start buying stuff now to ease the cost of books as soon as that comes. My friend who attended there received a packet in the mail, but I am not sure if they have switched it all to online by now or not.

Under my registration holds it says I need to show that I have First Aid Certificate/CPR Card. I believe they do require it.

@Alexis87 yes they do require a First Aid Certificate/CPR Card, it may not show under the "New student portal" but if you click on the the "Registration Portal" it will show it and any other holds you may have. As far as a packet being mailed out I'm not sure, When ---- called me about my acceptance she told me I would be getting an official letter in the mail, so I dont know if it comes included in the packet or it is just the acceptance letter. hope this helps

thanks for the help, I found the section that showed the cpr/first aid requirements

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted and good luck to those still waiting!

I graduated from LLU this past June and I may be biased but it's a great school.

Now just waiting to land a job :uhoh3: If anyone has any questions about the application process or 1st quarter classes, I'll gladly help however I can.

Don't be discouraged if you didn't receive a phone call or email. I spoke with someone in the office and the committee hasn't made their decisions on whos is getting in for their pipeline program. If you don't know what the pipeline program is it's for applicants who barely make the GPA requirements or don't quite make it, LLU wants you to take some extra classes to prepare you for their program and you get stipened $1000. Once you pass those extra classes with a B or better you automatically start clinicals the next quarter! So they're still hope

Goodluck to Everyone :):):)

and congrats to those who got accepted into the regular program

that was for @missxrara

Yeah those look fine...just get the most comfortable shoes you can. It will make a huge difference when you start doing 12 hour clinicals!

They're not that stringent on what your shoes look like. Some people I know wore white new balances the entire time.
