LLU WINTER 2012

Published

Just wanted to check who else was applying to LLU for winter 2012 start. Not sure how competitive this application period is, but i heard they only accept 54 students. Does anyone have pending preq's as well?

My* email, not me email lol sorry

OMG the teas v is so hard i got a 66 the first time and then i retook it and got a 73. oh and the critical thinking was even harder. I barely passed with a 14 but my gpa is a 3.8 so it evens out i guess. good luck to everyone.

wait you just retook it? Weren't you supposed to take it before the committee meets?

I have a 3.6 gpa (with 4 classes in progress Eng1B, Chem 2B and 2 Phys Ed) and i scored a 76 on my Teas Version 5 as well. So it kind of seems like were all in the same range of scores, i wonder what will be their deciding factor. Good Luck to everyone, I will post as soon i as know anything :)

No i re-took it about a month ago. and yeah it seems like everyone's scores are in the same range I too wonder how they'll decide on the applicants.

If you guys get in what are your plans for working. Are you going to do school only, or work part time and school? Just wondering what everyones plans are.

IF I get in, I think I am going to live on campus and work part time to pay for my car insurance. IF I don't get in this quarter, I am hoping to get in the spring and save up while I am waiting for that quarter. How about you guys?

If I get in I think I am going to quit my job for the first semester at least, then try and get a part time job as a unit secretary or something in the hospital environment maybe the second semester or the first summer we would have off. If I dont get in I am going to do the same thing as you, save up and hope to get in this spring. I would want to work part time, but I have to pay to rent a booth per week (I do hair) and would only be able to work about one day a week so I'm not sure if it will be worth the stress of trying to work outside of school or a hospital setting. Where do you work at?

I pray everyday that I get into the program, and if I do ill be working part time at UPS just because they offer tuition assistance to college students (up to $3,000). Has anyone started working with the Loma Linda University financial aid office? They have everything set for me already except for cal grant cause i haven't switch it to Loma Linda U.

If I get accepted for winter quarter (god willing) I would not work until I absolutely had too. Then after graduation I would try to get a job at the Loma Linda hosp in Murrieta. Kenster09, I'm interested in getting my financial aid started with LLU, how did you get started?

If I get accepted, I'll be commuting (With the tuition being so expensive!!). My friend who is an RN graduate from LLU told me the best job to have is to babysit so your not scheduled to work on a normal basis. Also a super cool program that the hospital offers (for all of you planning on taking out massive loans) is a 80/20 forgiveness loan. I think its a contracted amount of time if you get employed at LLU hospital. My friend is applying for it so I'm praying she gets it!
