Hi,

Try Kaplan at http://www.kaptest.com/nursing_index.jhtml (costs a heck of a lot of money though).

Also go to http://www.sylviarayfield.com/ and click on NCLEX review classes. This I the one I am taking personally. They teach you to prioritize and fun ways to recall stuff. It is $276

Did you gradate here? Your school may have a discount with KAPLAN so it may not be that expensive. My school was able to get a group rate of $348 for the class and a test bank of 1000 question so ask around. Hope this helps. There might be more but these are the ones I am most familiar with. How do I find a live test review? I have typed NCLEX review course into Yahoo but I am not coming up with anything. Are there no such creatures or should I just rely on my Saunders book and CD?

http://Www.ncsbn.org. is another good one.

My opinion on review courses is to pick one out that best suits you. I didn't chose Kaplan because I need more content then test taking strategies. Kaplan focuses mainly on test taking. They don't have strict content reviews.

Hurst is the one I took and they focus on content. She also teaches test taking but she feels content is what you need to be a successful nurse. Once you pass the exam, you still need to be a good nurse and know what is going on around you.

I agree with your assessment of KAPLAN. I did not need test taking strategies at all, and that's all they are about. Sylvia Rayfield will focus on prioritizing, critical thinking and pharmacology as well as creative ways to recall information when you need it.

I took the Hurst review and loved it. I took it after taking the nclex and failing after answering 265 questions. I retook the exam today after using Hurst and the computer stopped at 75. I loved marleen!!! :)

How do I find a live test review? I have typed NCLEX review course into Yahoo but I am not coming up with anything. Are there no such creatures or should I just rely on my Saunders book and CD?

Hi,

I am currently taking a review class that's offered by Drexel NCLEX-RN (http://passnclex.mcphu.edu/). It's a 10 day course (4 hours a day) but in some places its a 4-day course (full day). The class is being taught vy our previous nursing instructors. We just started last Monday and I must say I like it because not only it teaches us the techniques in answering NCLEX questions but we're also doing some refresher.

I think of all the live courses offered, this one is the cheapest and I heard that they have above 90% passing (according to our school statistics).

I am glad Drexel worked for you. My nursing school provided the 4day drexel program before graduation but I failed the nclex. I guess hurst worked better for me because I needed the content that it provided. I also felt like a safer nurse after going thru marlenes online review.

In drexels defense I waited 3 months after the review to test.

I paid 225.00 for the online review. I later found out if you buy the online review, you can contact them and they will mail more information to you. I didn't know that so I didn't get the other material.

HI, just go to google.com and type in "free nclex test" and you will find stuff. I studied from the Mosby book and the Kaplan book. Mosby is great for content and intense, Kaplan has great content too and strategies which helped me. Go to the libraries and take out books:) . Good Luck
