Anyone know or apply to LIU Brooklyn for the their nursing program? If so, how easy it to get into. I've looked at past threads on the university but they are a couple of years old so I was wondering if anybody has any recent experience. I have a 3.1 gpa and they require a minimum of 2.75 in science and pre-requisite courses. I heard they accept 100 people and it is easy to get into but hard to stay in. At this point I don't care an just want to start in a nursing school. I am kind of running out of options so any help is appreciated! Also I am trying to transfer from California.
I don't why they changed it. They just told me they require the TEAS now but it needs to be done within the first year. I didn't ask if they would accept the Hesi I already took but I don't understand why the wouldn't its the same anywhere. I just took it for carrington but it was on the HESI website. I just hope I get in. My friend applied too and it would suck if she gets in and I don't. I mean I would be happy for her but it would still suck!!
You're definitely note too late to apply for the Spring 2016 semester. Re-take your TEAS to get a higher score, but I think you'll be okay. I'd still apply to more than one school, maybe including some in CA - if you're only looking at BSN programs, maybe consider ADN programs as well. Cast a wide net because nursing schools are competitive everywhere and even if you do have a great shot at getting in to LIU, nothing is guaranteed! It is really strange that they don't require the admissions exam for admission :-P
So I applied to LIU three days ago and I haven't got any instructions on what do next. They said they would send them within 48 hours of the application being sent. Do they always take this long or should I contact them? Are they really unorganized replying to emails and getting back to people?
