Anyone know or apply to LIU Brooklyn for the their nursing program? If so, how easy it to get into. I've looked at past threads on the university but they are a couple of years old so I was wondering if anybody has any recent experience. I have a 3.1 gpa and they require a minimum of 2.75 in science and pre-requisite courses. I heard they accept 100 people and it is easy to get into but hard to stay in. At this point I don't care an just want to start in a nursing school. I am kind of running out of options so any help is appreciated! Also I am trying to transfer from California.

My friend graduated from LIU BK. call their admissions office for specifics, but there's no way they can tell you if you'll be admitted without seeing your application. Private schools in general are less competitive due to their high cost (LIU included), but they're still competitive nonetheless. NYC schools are no exception, there aren't many programs here and there are over 12 mil residents.
Get your application in, I think they've already sent decisions out so jump on it before all seats are taken!

Yeah I just applied today. I called the counselor today and she said they are still accepting applications so hopefully they still have spots.

I just graduated from LIU this past May. And I must say the program is hard but definitely worth it .
And you will get into the program With that GPa. Once you pass the hesi entrance exam you should be good to go .
I took the HESI in the beginning of May because I was going to go to Carrington College which is a private school for LVN and I got a 100% on reading, 92% math, 88% grammar and 90% on something else I cant remember. will they accept that? Also I called today and they said that they now want the students to take the teas as well. not for admission but in general within the first year of starting the nursing program.
Yes they will accept that ! And wow that must be new .
Teas and hesi?? That's ridiculous!
Maybe because they no longer use hesi .
It's probably just TEAS V then
Do you have to take the test at LIU or can you take it at your current location? I know my school required I take my entrance exam (NLN PAX) at my school and they wouldn't accept results from any other location. I'd call them and ask about that
When I took the hesi it wasn't at LIU .
I'd still ask if all the eggs are in the LIU basket
