I can't remember which one I have, but it isn't the most expensive one. These stethescopes are excellent. I do not take mine to work as I frequently lose them. I noticed when I worked at the hospital that the docs would come in and use the littman's on the pediatric floor and just walk out with them. If you do get one I would go with a middle of the line one, but they are all excellent.
I saw the advertisment for the one that records and all that good stuff for about $400 something.....isn't that amazing????
But I think in my line of work, (geriatrics) a middle of the line one would work fine...
Get your name engraved on it to be sure it doesn't walk away! (I've heard alot of that too!)
all of them are great.....
got a cardiology and a classic II when I graduated. BOTH are wonderful....
the cardio is a good one to have for really hearing those lung/heart sounds and since I am no expert I need all the help I can get.
But the classic II will be plenty and should more easily fall into your budget, if you are on a tight one.
I use the Littman Cardiology II SE which cost a little under two hundred bucks. Some doc tried to escape a patient room with my steth because he said "that's one nice stethoscope you got there". I quickly retreived it from him and told him it was a gift from another place of employment to me for coming to work on their unit. Now THAT's a heck of a gift to give a nurse! God bless 'em. Good people they were. I've had that steth now since 1994.
