Littmann Lightweight II SE

I'm getting a stethoscope from my parents as a birthday present, and I've been doing a lot of research on different types of scopes etc. and I am 95% sure that I want a Littlann Lightweight II (the other 5% of me says that I should get a Classic II, but I know that there isn't a great consensus as to which one is actually better, and the Classic is about $25 more, plus, either will be way better than the super cheap one the school supplied me with that I can hear with, just not extremely well)...so pretty much, I will be getting a Lightweight, in lilac.

My question though is: Should I get it online/engraved or should I forgo the engraving and go to a store and get it? I know that some people have issues with the way the engraving is done from some places (I would be getting it from Allheart), and I don't want my parents to spend the extra $15 if it won't be worth it because a) it'll be a waste of money and b) it'll delay me getting it.

Opinions?

Or what about Medisave? How is their engraving? I did some more looking, and I saw that it's free from them, so it's cheaper overall (about $60 rather than $70).

Again - is the engraving worth it, or should I just go to a store and buy the steth so I can have it faster?

if you are going into NS with it, I would def go with the engraving; it might save you buying a brand new scope later on and since its free why not?(how fast do you need it? I would get it of Medisave.net if you have some time before school before I would def get it on medisave) and ike i said free engraving too

I've actually been in school since August 23, but clinicals don't really start til next week, and my school provided cheapo steths for us at the beginning.

I did go with it from Medisave though. I ordered it on Sunday, and it was processed and shipped by yesterday, and according to the online tracking from Fedex, was delivered today, so I should get it Thursday probably because it takes a day or two for my college to sort out the mail and packages and give us the slips that let us know we have a package etc.

O wow it's been awhile but hey if u plan on going farther than CNA it be a great thing.I am going go onto as an LPN(I still have to order my card 3for my CNA and next onto m LPN

I'm in an RN program.

I got it today! I absolutely love it! It's so much louder and clearer than the school provided, and is also a beautiful color, has perfect engraving, comfortable eartips etc. I haven't used it for a BP or anything yet (I just got it)...but I definitely think it was a good choice.

I cant wait rill I order one and first hand see the diffracnes that the card 3 brings to the table. I came back from a physical exam for my CNA and I saw a nurse with a card 3 and it didn't look to long

Scopes are a waste - use the ones your place of work offers. You are just going to loose it. Or someone is going to pick it up. Save the money.

How are they a waste?! They aren't something readily available on our clinical units. We are required to have one of our own. Our program gave us each one, but a super cheap, crappy one, and my clinical instructor says all the time that we should really get a better, quality one.

Get a lightweight which is really good but I. Would get a classic,well that's what. I think. I am going to get a card 3 bitty that's just me

Does engraving your stethoscope work or do people still try to steal them?
