Hi,
I'm starting school this fall and I'm undecided about which stethoscope is better. Can anyone offer any feedback on either scopes please? Are both ok for taking BP's and what about pediatrics as that's really the field I would like to focus on eventually.

I haven't used the cardiology III but I bought myself a Master Cardiology for graduation and I love it! I had a Littman Master Classic during school and also loved it, and really thought a stethoscope couldn't get much better than the master classic since I heard fine with it, but with the master cardiology everything is so clear and loud! I work in an ER so we do see peds patients- the master cardiology comes with a peds adapter, which I haven't used, but when I've used it my steth alone on a baby it works just fine and I heard everything I needed to. Pretty much any stethoscope- including the disposable isolation ones from the hospital- is going to be fine for taking BPs.

I had the Cardio III and then thought I was "upgrading" to the Master Cardiology as the sound rating on the III is "9/10" and the Master is "10/10" but honestly, the Cardio III is MUCH clearer than the Master. Pluse the III has a peds side with just the flip of the head instead of having to use an adapter on the Master.
In Peds, I have seen MUCH smaller pediatric stethoscopes but when I have floated to the Peds unit, I was able to use my III without difficulty.

I have the Cardiology III, the master Cardiology both in Littman and the master Cardiology in Kila. My personal fave is the Cardiology III.
BUT for school where the poor thing gets thrown everywhere and in locker, backpack and ect. Get a less expensive Kila new $70 and used approx $40 and when someone tries to lift it or doc/nurse "accidently" takes it home it is not as big a deal.
I could hook you up with a Kila used but with new eartips and diaphram cover for cheap if you interested message me.
