hi! does anyone know anything about lincoln technical institute's lpn program? It's located ion Mount Laurel, NJ. It's a one year program.

I am also looking for info on LTI. Is it true that not everyone accepts this school for transfers to RN schools. I also am hearing that in NJ there are no jobs for LPN's. Is any of this true? I am trying to make a career change after a layoff. I was first told to apply to a CNA program then that was a bust then LPN and now i hear of the poor job outlook in NJ. If someone is able to help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to get a good job and give back to the community. "PLEASE HELP". Thank You.

Jobs are very tight for RNs so they are taking LTC positions. It is an employer's market; if you could pay an RN desperate to work and get experience the same amount of money as an LPN wouldn't you?

LPN prospects are pretty slim in NJ.

Hi I am currently a student at this location and must say that if I can warn anyone ahead of time I am going to....the school is highly over priced at 27,000 for the LPN program. You dont do much hands on at all. I ve been here a year and if I had 3 lab times its alot. The instructors simply read outlines and never get back to questions. Out of a class of 30 students for Pharmocology only 7 passed and at that by the skin of their teeth.

I regret going to this school you feel like your paying to teach yourself! Dont do it. Plus rumor has it this school is under investigation for complaints from students.....

You cant transfer any credits from Lincoln tech to any RN school or college which sucks!!

This is odd I attend the same school and my experience is the complete opposite! Mine read directly from the power points! Mine auto. think we cheat so she will only allow us to get a gradde of what is the class average. if the class averAGE ON AN ASSIGNMENT IS 75 then if I complete a day later i can only get a 75 even if i get a 95! My time here has been an utter nightmare!

DO NOT GO TO LINCOLN TECH! no no no! $27,000 FOR CRAP! A FRIEND I KNOW WENT THERE AND "GRADUATED", HE WENT TO GO GET A JOB AND THEY SAID BECAUSE HE WENT TO LINCOLN TECH THEY WOULDN'T HIRE HIM. SO HE APPLIED TO COLLEGE AND DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN...ANOTHER FRIEND WENT THERE AND JUST GRADUATED.. HEARD THAT THEY GIVE POINTS TO STUDENTS WHO DONT DO WELL TO KEEP THEIR "95% PASSING RATE" QUOTE. I WOULDN'T WANT A NURSE TAKING CARE OF MY MOTHER WHO JUST PASSED BECAUSE OF FREE POINTS. ANOTHER THING IS IF YOU DONT PASS YOUR FIRST QUARTER, THATS NOT $9,000 YOU LOSE, ITS $27,000 YOU LOSE. ITS BOGUS, EXPENSIVE, THE TEACHERS ARE YOUNG AND DONT HAVE EXPERIENCE. GO TO A COLLEGE WHERE IT IS STATE ACCREDITED. UNION COUNTY COLLEGE HAS A GREAT PROGRAM AND YOU PAY BY SEMESTER. Hi. I will be attending Lincoln Tech LPN program in Edison NJ starting Dec. 19th 2011. The price is about what is said on this thread. It will take 1 year to complete. Give or take, by January 2013 I should be done. The only reason I am going to this school is because NY, NJ & CT are the top paying for LPN's. I have heard from $20-$30 an hour. The classes are MOnday thri Friday from 8a.m. tp 3p.m. again, FOR 1 WHOLE YEAR. After 6 weeks into the program, we will have 2 days out of the week doing clinicals, which means working hands on in a nursing home/ hospital. I plan to the the RN to LPN at La Guardia Community College in NY. Good luck to all the future LPN's!

However there are not too many jobs for LPN's in the NJ metro area as the market is saturated with new & experienced LPN's. Don't expect to make $25-30 an hour starting out as an inexperienced new grad. Try more like $18-22 base depending on the facility, benefits, etc.

School is what you make of it, but be mindful of taking out excessive student loans. I know some who found out the hard way why taking out an extra $5,000 in loans for "living expenses" was not the greatest idea since loans are due starting somewhere around graduation to 6months post graduation. It can take 8-12 weeks or longer to get your license post graduation (NJ does not offer a temporary permit for new grads while waiting for NCLEX & formal license). Many facilities will not interview until you have license number issued. Same people waited to submit their application to the BoN (rather than set aside the $200 for the BoN & $200 for the NCLEX) and are now struggling to pay back loans and meet life
