I also applied there and was wondering if it was a good place to start. How about NYH Queens they dont hire until you have your license but It seems like an option. Anyone have any takes on either hospital? I'd like to start my career in the ER but I think it's going to be really hard to find a hospital that will start a new RN in that dept. Hopefully Bellevue!

It really depends on what floor you work on...some people love it here and some people hate it.
Keep in mind, different units have different policies regarding things like vacation time, working/taking PTO for the 13th day of the month, and calling in sick...among other things...which isn't exactly fair.
I shall reserve my personal opinions for a later time.
As for the person who wants to work in the ER as a new grad...North Shore/LIJ has a Fellowship program for the ER that takes new grads...I think they have a new one starting in March...call HR for exact details on the start date.
