LICH, Queensborough or Beth Israel??

Published

I have been accepted into LICH and Queensborough Community College and put on a waiting list for Beth Israel. I was wondering if you had the choice which would you choose?

I also applied to Lichson for the fall and went on an interview. I haven't recieved a letter yet but spoke with admissions office and they said I was on the waiting list. Is anyone still waiting for a letter? Does anyone know how long Lichson's waiting list is? ANyone that applied and got in or wait listed, please tell me what you got on the nln and your gpa, just wanna see where I am at. Thankssssss!

If you are on the waiting list you should call them and find out how many other people are on the waiting list. You should also find out where you stand on the list. I was accepted but I declined the seat because I decided to go with Queensboro CC. I had a composite score of 86 on the nln and a 3.8 GPA. When was your interview?

I recieved an 84 composite score on the nln and I have a 3.4 gpa. I called several times, and they cannot tell me where I am at on the list, and it is about 70 ppl long. also, marina said that no one has decline yet so nothing has opened, but she will keep and eye out and I can call her next week. I had my interview about 3 weeks ago, and still no letter. I haven't even recieved a letter saying I am on the waiting list, I am only going on what she told me on the phone. The only thing I can think of is that I applied very late (april 08), and they had already decided on who would be getting in, but I'm not too sure it that could be the reason why I got wait listed. I just applied to QCC for next yr, was wondering if you need to be register a semester prior to entering the nursing program?

No that's not the reason because I mailed in my application very close to the deadline and I was interviewed on June 4th. The interviewer told me when the admissions committee was meeting next and that I should hear from them shortly after that. They met on June 12 and I got the letter on the 25th which said that I needed to send in my $500 deposit by the 26th (which I thought was crazy). 70 people on the waiting list is crazy. Did you finish all your prerequisites?

For QCC you don't have to be a registered student to apply but they do accept their students first. I recommend whatever classes you are taking that you get A's in them and you should be good.

Then I don't understand why I didn't make it, I know a girl who got a 108 on the nln and she got in. Who knows what they are looking for... so depressing!! I just applied to QCC, and I am taking my last pre-req this fall if I don't get in anywhere else. And it's kinda weird that I haven't gotten a letter yet either, nothing, zip, nada!!! I am just going to reapply in oct for lich and for KCC, and see what happens with QCC. Thanks for some answers

I think that KCC requires you to do a semester at their school before you can apply. I also think they require you to take a certain math class there that apparently is not equivalent to any math class at any other school. That is why I didn't apply. I read on this site that LICH is disorganized (could explain why you have no letter yet). I think your nln score was good and your GPA is good too. All of these programs are so competitive, but I encourage you to keep applying and don't get discouraged. :)

Thank you, I appreciate your encouring words. I am corrently at KCC, and have taken that class you were talking about. I did not make the program there either, they have 90 seats. They do however have an unoffical list of people that didn't make the program and if a seat opens prior to the semester starting, they call them. It consists of about 25 people and I am on it. Called yesterday, and they are suppose to have all there "yes' " by today. If someone declines I still have a small chance... keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Was wondering if this is the first time you applyed for nursing? If not, where else have you tried?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too. Yes this is the first time I have applied to a nursing program. I applied to the 3 mentioned above and NYU. I also have a Bachelor's degree in another dicipline (don't know if that makes a difference or not). Good Luck.

from what i heard, you need above a 100 on the nln to be considered for admissions (that's what i heard about for last year, not sure what this years is, of if it stayed the same)

Yes, I understand that. My nln score was a 122. The percentile that I fell into was the 84th. So sad... got my letter saying that they didn't have enough seats!!!!! Guess there is always next year.
