Does anyone have any experience/opinions about these programs?

BI has a great initimate program. Most of the students were second degree students- there were less than 10 students straight out of highschool. The faculty is great and team teach all the coursework. The comraderie among the students is great, not competitive, but supportive. There were about 50 students per year, with a total of 100 students in the entire school.

howdy! im currently at LICH and i love it. ive been at beth israel too and i would say that LICH is not that competitive. i dont know...maybe its just me. when are you planning to apply? they are the same continuum anyways.
How is my old alma mater? I graduated in 9/75- it seems like a hundred years ago. I would like to hear from anyone who graduted from LICH in 1975/1976. Is there any one out there on this listserve who attended school during these years? If anyone did, and/or is working at the hospital, could you direct them to this listserve, so I can get in touch with my old classmates?
LICH was still a diploma program when I graduated. It converted to an ADN the September that I graduated. That was the first incoming class of ADN students. I/we went to school for two calendar years, and that is how I graduated in only two years from a diploma program. My picture is on the stand in the lobby of the school of nursing on a turnstile. ALL of the graduating classes had their class picture in there. I know that the school of nursing is on Hicks Street now. It used to be in the dorms, across the street from the main entrance of the old, original, hospital on Henry Street. I was born there, went to school there, and worked there for four years before I moved to California.
Anyway, if anyone could help me get in touch with others who I graduated with in the hospital, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Just a heads up... the school is no longer on hicks. They moved it further from the hospital, way down on court street.I started their program before they moved and I have to say it was so much more convenient being right next to the hospital. But the building was sold and they moved into what was the ILA clinic. So sorry to say there arent any more turnstiles or pictures of previous classes.

i hope this is not a stupid question, but i'll ask anyway,do you have to take your pre-req's at a different college before you can apply to to either beth israel or lich?:uhoh21:
I dont know about BI, but with Lich, if you dont have all your pre req's you can fulfill the requirements at St Francis College which is on Remsen St. The nursing school is affiliated with them. I completed many of the pre reqs while I was at hunter college before I started the nursing program and so they transfered my courses and what i didnt have I took up at St Francis. I would definitly recomend getting most if not all the pre reqs out of the way first.

Hi guys, your conversation really caught my attention as I am a struggling wanna be nurse (someday) and LICH is one of my schools of interest. The problem is I heard that you have to take that pre-nursing test and also my gpa is not that great so I don't know of my chances in applying to that school, however I am still going to submit an application. To the person that's attending there, any word of advice for me
