Hi all,
I am an American that got my BSN in Australia. Now I am in the first stages of getting my nursing license back home (Michigan) and am totally confused by the lingo/whole process.
For example, on the application is asks license by endorsement or exam. What does this mean??
I have my registration in Australia, but will have to take the NCLEX I am sure. Do I choose exam?
Is it talking about the NCLEX or a state board or what?
Any light shone on this would be so helpful!
Thanks in advance!!

To be honest, it's the Michigan Board of Nursing who will give you the most accurate answer. Read the following link before going any further:

Long story short: you may not have to take the NCLEX if you meet certain criteria. It's up to you and the BON to determine if you do meet that criteria.

You will be applying to the state Board of Nursing for a license by examination. You will submit to them all the required information, as Meriwhen said it is laid out on their website. If your education meets their requirements to take the NCLEX, there you go. If there is anything in your education that s missing from their requirements, they will tell you. Good luck.

If you do not have a nursing license from a US state BoN then you are applying for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse
