If I finish my LVN 12 month course, is it necessary or obligatory that I review and take the license exam right away? Or it all still depends on me? Coz after graduating (if ever), I have to be out of the country and do a mission for 5 months. If I go back to US, I can always still review and take the test right? And all I just have to deal with is my student loan collection I guess?

My instructors always encouraged us to take the NCLEX very soon after graduation. I completely agree because you may be surprised what you forget in 5 months. It is best to review for a short time while you are waiting for a test date so that the info from school is still fresh in your head. Don't wait if you can help it.

I agree take the test before your mission trip if possible. I think if I had taken the test shortly after graduation I may have passed. So take it from someone who waited ... Don't Wait.... Take the test and then look for a job when you get back....

I have to agree...don't wait too long. You want to be as fresh as you can before you are distracted with life. Eventually, it gets very tedious to study, and you will not have the same resources available such as study buddies, a professor, funds for a review class (if you planned to do that) etc...
I remembered making a schedule to review the things that gave me a hard time in school. My demon was fluid and electrolytes. I did well on the school exam only because they didn't ask too many questions on it, but darned if I really comprehended much! Thank goodness I followed my mind because I got a few dicey questions that I would not have known.
I strongly advise to get NCLEX out of your way so you can move on in life. Good luck!
Thank you so much y'all who replied. I appreciate it. So obviously I have to follow that. Thanks.

dont wait! do it as soon as possible because if you think you can refresh after 5 months it may not be as easy if you just take it before you go.

OH, the blasted electrolytes! And acid-based balances.....GRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I definitely agree, take the test ASAP!! I waited (for financial reasons) 4 months before I tested. I passed, but was in a near-panic mode for most of the test because some of the info from school was already becoming fuzzy. The best of luck to you!
how much is it gonna cost you to take the board exam and all the preparation?
