Yes you need to have cvs to approved your papers. It took me almost a year for them to give me approval to take nclex.

If you're a green card holder you dont have any problem like me. You dont need to be a Philippine board passer. Just go to cgfns and approve your TOR from philippines. Then once they are done processing your TOR they will forward it to the NYS Dep Ed to process and they will tell you if you are eligible to take the NCLEX. Then after that you can now register for pearson vue and after that you have to wait for ATT to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Then you can now make your schedule to take the test...

There's a form that you need to fill up in CGFNS and you will send that to them. Then cgfns will send it to your school asking them for your transcript then your school will send it to cgfns. It will took me around 3 months for my sschool to receive the letter from cgfns. then i think a month or 2 for the cgfns to receive it. then another 6 months for cgfns to process your paper :) SO GOOD LUCK! so send them the papers now....
thanks a lot !!! ladylibra018...
your help count much to my problem...
yeah,i am going to send forms to cgfns first ,then after a month or so i will also send my application to NY ..thanks a lot !!!! you too goodluck to your career here..

Even if there was no concurrency problem, in CA, they require proof of the local PH license. Unless you get a waiver from the PRC or another form of documentation to show that you're a US citizen or have dual citizenship that you could not take the local exam due to your citizenship status.
However, I do know that one with a USC or dual and easily take the local exam but simply not filling out that section of the form and still gets you to take the exam. I have several friends who had done so without any problems at all.
I always advised to do so if they plan to ever come back to the State (with about a 99% chance they do), as it will look better to a potential US hospital employer to show you have the local nursing license.
This will give them the better edge if a hospital was to hire two foreign grads, one who's resume shows they passed and possess the local license versus someone without it. Jobs are so competitive that every little bit of information helps to push their application closer to possible hire and ins't this partly what it's all about.
