liability insurance

am doing my little research on this and am going to get insurance...i think you can't be too careful out there anymore and thinking "it's not going to happen to me" is simply oudated and dangerous...sad, but true.

i really need some input on this, as i've never had this kind of insurance before...don't want to go cheap, just want the best coverage...

thanks....

I use NSO and have 1,000,000/6,000,000 for a little under $100/year. I wouldn't go to work without it. The hospital may claim to cover you if you follow their policies/procedures, but they will do whatever is necessary to wash their hands of an incident, even if it means hanging you out to dry.

they offer a discount for new grads online also...don't have a flier, will have to go through their website...how's the coverage different?

The flier that I had offered 1 mil/6 mil (I think) for $98/year.

The website quoted me 300,000/1 mill for $118 (and that WAS the new grad discount).

Check out the website and see what they tell you. You can get a quick quote from them just by answering a few questions.

Thanks DonaldJ and labcat! (By coincidence, my renewal notice email came today - 1M/6M for $98/yr.)

Also, if you have homeowner's insurance, you may be able to get better coverage for less money by adding it to your existing home policy. Check with your insurance agent to see if that is an option.
