I'm applying to Lewis for their ABSN program or the non-traditional program (basically night classes and weekend clinicals).
I know they just changed the test from the NET to KAT which is the Kaplan Admission Test. Has anyone heard of this test? Or has anyone taken it? I'm kinda nervous because I tried to look for more info on this test and has not found anything. All I know is that its a 91 question computerized test. Plus you only get once chance to take the test period.... double stress.
Anywho if anyone has any information about this test or the general application process please post. I'll really appreciate it. Thank you very much.
Hi! Maybe you can get away with buying the older editions for the professional development classes but for Health Assessment you should really buy the actual book. I know the price sucks but some books we do reuse throughout the program. And what's good is that if the publisher comes out with a newer version, we don't have to buy that and get to use the ones we already have.
Another option for the professional development classes is to rent the books. But just make sure you don't need that in another class.
KAT exam was not as difficult as I thought, they will test your science but they will look only at math and reading results. I do not think there are availabilities for fall 2011, some students who took exam with me in feb '10 will start only in spring 2012, I was lucky, a spot opened up for me so I started spring '11. The program overall is super intense, I thought it will be difficult, but really it is a challenge. I work part time but I'm thinking that the best thing would be to quit and focus on school only. It has been only a month and I have already smiled and cried. I wish you good luck and be strong! You can do it!

They did not tell me what scores I needed. They just said that my both scores are great and congratulations. Average was 84 for 3 sections (reading, writing and math). I will start in a fast track.
