Hi all, I was wondering if there was anyone out there working at Lenox Hill Hospital in the critical care division. I recently was offered a position for a critical care float for days. I was wondering about the reputation of the hospital, how they treat nurses, what is the moral like, how do nurses work with eachother etc. I was really wondering why there is an opening on days and why they are considering an outside applicant, that normally makes me nervous. I didnt apply for this position but was found in the database and contacted directly. It all seems too good to be true but I am getting nervous about leaving my current position to take a risk without knowing any details. Any and all comments would be appreciated

Why don't you ask for a shadow day where you get to shadow on a couple units you will float to for a few hours each. That will give you a better idea of what to expect before accepting the job.

Your thread has been moved to the New York Nursing forum with the ultimate goal of getting replies from those who are familiar with Lenox Hill Hospital. Good luck!

I am actually in the same boat as you and I did not apply for the position either. I have an interview on the 6th. I already have a critical care float position, so I am not really sure if I want to pursue it, but I will hear what they have to say and I have a few questions. Perhaps they are starting a float pool. I know North Shore Manhasset just started a cc float pool last December so maybe the other NSLIJ hospitals are also getting them.

hi all, are these jobs in the float pool also for RNs changing specialties or only for new grads or experienced ICU RNs? thank you.
