Hi everyone,
I recently applied to lehman's nursing program for admittance into the Fall 2013 semester. Is there anyone who is already in the program, that can let me know what kind of scores on the HESI and gpas were accepted? I have a 3.9 GPA but I only got an 86 overrall on the HESI exam, so I am really nervous. I hope I get in, it's all I've ever wanted to be. Thanks for whoever replies to this.
I wanted to apply to NYU as well, but there is no way I could afford it. So I just applied to lehman. How far do you live from lehman? Honestly, when everyone hears NYU, they think its the best, but I think Lehman's program is great too! They have an extremely high NClEX pass rate; I'm sure NYU does too, but I'm not too familiar with NYU's statistics. However, I think you should choose what's best for you. I don't know your financial situation, but I think both of these schools are great. If your heart is NYU, go for it, because you don't want to regret your desision. Good luck, and congrats on your acceptance to both programs!
I just got accepted to accelerated program yesterday!! I was already accepted at NYU and I planned to go there -- this changes everything. I live much closer to NYU but the cost is so much better at Lehman. Any inputs???
What Toya said is great -- if your heart is in NYU, then go for it! If the financial burden is a big deal, then I'd stick with Lehman. I briefly considered NYU, but their $45,000 a year price tag versus about $6,000 for Lehman was the deciding factor because I have a pretty hefty student loan debt from my previous degree (and when those student loan repayments begin and you see your first bill is over $1,000, your stomach drops... Less debt = More happiness). As for it being closer, it may make you feel better to know you won't be the only one with a long commute -- I will be commuting from the last stop in Bay Ridge all the way to the Bronx each day! =)
Hey!
I was accepted to NYU last year and I had every intention of going--I paid the tuition deposit, I joined the facebook group, I went down to financial aid. But into it I requested a student loan and I was unfortunately rejected. When I requested an even lower amount, I was rejected again. So I understand NYU looks great, but I don't want you to put all your cards in that basket and then be told you can't go, because by that time it'll be too late to go to Lehman.
If you're absolutely positive you can get a 45,000 loan, whether by yourself or with a cosigner, then like they said above, follow your heart. But again, the lack of debt is going to do you more good in the long run. Especially if you want to advance your education later.
Good Luck With Everything and congrats on your admission! :)
