Hi guys, I am seeing a lot of comments about taking HIN269 this Summer and I want to know if the people that have asked for permission to take it are the ones already in the Nursing program or those of us waiting to get into the program.

I am worried because I was to take it this Spring that just ended, I got permission to take it , met with the professor that said that she had put my name all up and gave me the class number to go online and add it, but I never able to do it cos it wasn't allowing me. when I complain to the advisor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) she said there was no need to take it that HIN269 is only a lehman college requirement and is best to take it after getting into the program so I didn't take it in Spring anymore since she discourage me. Now I am wondering if I should take it this Summer.

I took HIN 269 this Spring and I’m not currently in the program but I chose to take it prior just to half one less class to take once in the program if I get accepted

If you can take HIN 269 this Summer I STRONGLY recommend it. The first semester is so demanding and believe me you’ll really appreciate that Winter break to get some much needed R & R rather than taking that class. In my class everyone regretted not having taken it over the Summer.

OK it really makes sense, I just don't get why she asked me not to bother cos I really wanted to take it this Spring. I hope it doesn't affect my chances of getting into the program.

Thanks for the advise, I will ask for permission to take it now and I pray I get into the program, Though I already got an offer from Mount Saint Vincent but waiting to hear from Lehman before accepting it.

I don't know why (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said that to you, When I asked to get it, they all gave me and did not say anything that I should not since 2018 ( I just did not take because the pro assigned me looked tough. LOL

My ex-classmates who entered the nursing, they recommended it to take before the nursing program.

it is not going to hurt your application.

dont worry you can take it in the program. They told me the same but I pushed to get permission for this semester to get it over with. They don’t look at that grade for consideration into the program, only HIN 268. Hope that helps !

Hey, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) had discouraged me as well for Spring , Anyhow, I got permission for Summer session 2 , I just enrolled, I am still waiting to hear from nursing department for acceptance into the program, fingers crossed. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) had emailed saying they will send out letters between 1-2week of June. So lets see. best of luck everyone.
