There are two separate books being used for this course at the moment. It depends on what text the professor chooses for her course, so maybe you should would wait for the syllabus. They are:

Population and Community Health Nursing by Mary Jo Clark 2015, and

Foundations for Population Health by Stanhope and Lancaster

I was just about to post the same thing. Just found out there were two different books. I took 269 a while ago and it was different books then what are being used now.

Thank you DG82 and EP04 for the information!

I just double-checked cunyfirst and I have Johnson. Do ya'll remember which book she required? Thanks again!

HI, Rassan

I finislly got Hin 269 permit, but the professor's rate is very bad. Claudette Gordon. I am hesisitating . It is online class but the pro does not respond student 's emails. Plz advise me . Should take it in summer short session. Her rate 1 out of 5

Hello Kil park,

I had Claudette Gordon for HIN 300 last semester I honestly couldn't believe how difficult her exams were. She told us from day one that most of us will get a "C" for her course....and in the end...she was right. She is an incredibly knowledgeable and seasoned teacher who LOVES to share these interesting stories about her experiences in the field of nursing. But, when it comes to teaching the course work that we're expected to know...she really doesn't do anything....and I mean anything. I've heard from students who are currently taking 269 online from her right now and most of them got in the 50's for the midterm and who know what they'll get for the final. For our midterm and final as well, most students got in the 60's...some 70's...and very few in the 80's. I took HIN 269 last summer with Harcum and yes she was difficult but at least she teaches the material and if you show that your giving it your all then she does reward your efforts. So...honestly if I were you I'd hold off until the summer and get a different teacher....that "1" rating would be much lower if rate my professor allowed us to grade in the negatives. Good luck!

HI, Thank you so much really appreciate you

many friends told me i better take hin269 before than the program.

I was so into getting the permission. but I will hold it. I am working full time and i m gonna to foreign language next semester, you save my life. thank you

Hello 2019 Cohort!

I am applying to the accelerated program and have a question about the class schedule and the workload. What are daily schedules like? Does the accelerated program have class every day? How many hours a day? I am trying to decide if I should pursue part-time weekend work. Any help would be appreciated!

RO

Well...I’m in the generic program am I’ll be honest with you pretty much every weekend is spent studying ( like 12-14 per day) I can’t even imagine how people in the accelerated program can get away with working on the weekends. Having said that, there are classmates of mine who do work ONE weekend day ( not both ) but only because their job allows them to study while being on the clock. My job doesn’t allow this.

hello! I have a question,

does the nursing department factor in the HIN 268 and HIN 269 courses in your GPA or is it just the science courses that they look at?

Hello!

The nursing department only factors science courses into your GPA. But you still need to get a C or above in HIN 268 and 269.

The department will use HIN 268/269 as a tie breaker if anything. But the GPA is only the science courses that are implied for entry.

Hi there I’m looking to take HIN269 ONLINE over the Summer. Anyone please let me know which professors do you prefer and also if I can take NUR300 over the Summer? Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Hmmm!! very time I See this "268 &269 as tie breaker" I get scared. I have 268 which I got an A in and transferred from another school. Ms Akan discouraged me from registering for 269 for this Spring semester when I told her I was having problems registering even after I had gotten permission for it. Her reason was because it's only Lehman that requires it and is best to take it when you are sure that you are in the Nursing program already.

Anyone for generic program receive any news yet? A couple of my buddies just received acceptance letters/emails for the accelerated program the last 2 days.
