I am applying to Lehman College's nursing program for this upcoming August and was wondering what my chances were. I just took my HESI exam and did pretty terribly on the Critical Thinking section (780). The other portions, I did fairly well. Math (98%), Reading (88%), and Anatomy (88%). My pre-req GPA is a 3.74. My overall GPA is close to a 3.5. I was wondering what my chances were with the 2 year program. One of the faculty told me that the critical thinking score was pretty low, but I should apply anyway. Do I have any shot at getting in? Thanks.
Hey everyone. Stay encouraged. It's almost impossible to reach anyone at the nursing department during this time and just imagine how many of you are calling each day. I wish I could tell you there was some kind of method to the madness but I don't think there is. Last year, got accepted with a 3.69, 94 HESI overall and a 920 Critical Thinking score. Someone with a 4.0 got accepted after I did. Another person in the generic person wasn't accepted until days before orientation in August. I'm telling you to have false hope but you never know what may happen.
If you'd like to know more about the accelerated program please see the link below that breaks down almost everything you need to know, semester-by-semester.

I second the previous post. If you've been accepted already then you should begin studying dosage calculations yesterday. There is a test you will be required to get a 95 or above on before you even begin your first class. Dosage calculations show up on every exam throughout the whole first year and they are heavily weighted for final hesis. Theres tons of tutorials for doing these calcations on YouTube and if your computer savvy there are some practice books you can sownload for free. Good luck to everyone who has yet to find out and congratulations to those who have alreadt been accepeted. Its going to be a crazy ride but worth it in the end!!

Its simply hard to get anyone to answer the phone at the department. The only person who answers her phone sometimes is the chair. Due to the policy of allnurses i cant give you her contact directly but you can simply google lehman nursing department contact and it will pop up. Good luck!
