Lehman college 2016 admittance

Published

I am applying to Lehman College's nursing program for this upcoming August and was wondering what my chances were. I just took my HESI exam and did pretty terribly on the Critical Thinking section (780). The other portions, I did fairly well. Math (98%), Reading (88%), and Anatomy (88%). My pre-req GPA is a 3.74. My overall GPA is close to a 3.5. I was wondering what my chances were with the 2 year program. One of the faculty told me that the critical thinking score was pretty low, but I should apply anyway. Do I have any shot at getting in? Thanks.

Back in March I asked the Chair what was the passing grade on the Hesi for critical thinking. She said 800 was the cut-off. She told me I could retake the exam if it was offered through another school. So that's what I did.

I didn't get in this year then.

I wouldn't say that. The dept is always changing their policies and admission standards. One of my classmates told me that a nursing advisor said he should be fine with a critical thinking score of 730.

i dont think you should give up yet. They are still sending out decisions and till you receive the email stating you were rejected dont give up. I experienced the waiting and i know its the hardest thing to do but please keep hoping. Good luck!!

Has anyone received word yet from the department today?

I called earlier and she said the cutoff for the CT was an 800 and basically said I was rejected by the tone of her voice haha..shoot.

I'm sorry to hear that! But I wouldn't get to worked up about it until you receive an official notice from the department.

I'm not worked up. I'm just a little disappointed and trying to come up with things to do until next year. Definitely have to get over an 800 on CT next time haha

Hi everyone, Have any of you received any info regarding when the nursing orientation packet will be emailed?

i still haven't gotten an email notification yet..but I'm hanging on to Friday. Does anyone know what is the passing hesi overall score?

No i still haven't :(
