I've been searching for a preceptor for my first rotation in Primary Care Adult and Geriatric Patient Practicum. I've registered with 'Clinical Match Me' but haven't paid any fees yet. I'm wondering if any of you have used their service or can recommend other services. My clinical rotation starts in March 2024, so I'm taking proactive steps and plan to send my resume to various places. Any tips?

Thank you

I've read that NPhub is a pretty popular site to use to pay for preceptors. I personally don't have experience or know anyone that has used it. I do recall walking up to an OB clinic to introduce myself and ask if they were open to precepting and the front desk referred me to NPhub and to search their doctor's name.

As for tips for finding a preceptor outside of paying these companies and if you haven't done so already, use your place of employment to network if possible. I worked on the telemetry floor and was surprised to find out that many internists/hospitalists do primary care and even some specialists do primary care. From personal experience, emailing clinics your resume and doing phone calls are unlikely to get you a spot. Finding a preceptor/clinic was just like finding a job. Dress up, resume in hand, and show up in person right when they open and introduce yourself. You have plenty of time to start looking, but if you're willing to pay for a preceptor, more power to you.

Can't speak for either of those but I used matchNP because I shopped around and they were the most affordable option.

I've only used MomentMD because they're nationwide with telehealth preceptors so I saved a lot on travel and housing. They provide primary care, mental health, pediatrics, Womens health, dermatology and orthopedics. They don't invoice until you've been confirmed and set up so that helps with piece of mind too. Good luck! :)
