This thread is for applicants to Legacy's Versant RN Residency program that starts Winter 2014. Congratulations to those of you who have recieved an email to start registering for the pre-screening interviews. Good luck to everyone!
Not an intrusion! :) So I graduated in Sept and passed NCLEX in October. I was applying to just about every hospital opening that I qualified for, but I didn't have much luck. I was looking to start out in critical care, but I knew it would be tough as a new grad. That's when I decided to apply to residency programs and landed a few interviews. However, mid-December I got a call to interview for a staff RN position on the trauma step-down unit at the hospital where I went to school. I had a rotation on this floor and I completed my senior practicum in the trauma ICU so I decided to go ahead with the interview. To my surprise I was offered the position a few days later. While the residency would be an amazing opportunity I did not want to pass up this job offer. The market is pretty tough out there for new grads! Plus, I really enjoyed my time on the unit and it sparked my interest in trauma in the first place. Thanks for the reply. May I ask what kind of position you accepted to pass up this opportunity? Sorry to intrude, if you don't feel comfortable answering here you can pm me. I'm in search of my first job after getting my license last month. :)
i applied to this program and i am hoping that i will get the call for a second interview.
did anyone get a second interview and did anyone turn in their references electronically?
i got an email informing me that references are only allowed if they chose to move forward with our application ... does that come before or after being selected for the second interview?
I am interested in applying to the ED residency program when i graduate from nursing school, however, I have never actually seen a student nurse completing a clinical in the ED. So if I wanted to give myself the best opportunity to be competitive for the residency program what would be the best approach while in nursing school?
