Legacy RN Residency Program Spring 2016

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for the RN Residency Program that starts in July 2016. I hope everyone lands an interview! I'm a new graduate hoping to get hired in L&D, NICU, or Med/Surg.

Use this thread to keep everyone up to date & good luck!

I know they are doing PCU interviews tomorrow at Good Sam, but that is all I heard so far.

I got second interview calls for both Good Sam (PCU) and Emanuel (Medical Specialties). I had them both already and was asked for refererences for both!

That is awesome! Congrats! I have pretty much given up I would be SHOCKED if I got a call at this point. Good luck to everyone with interviews to go still! Also, don't freak out if you don't get it. I didn't get anything last year and still got a job in the ER. I went in at the right time with resume in hand and got lucky. Well, after 10 tries different places ;). Don't give up and stay with it!

Does anyone know if second interviews have been done for Peds or PICU? That is who I spoke with at the first interview. At this point I'm not hoping for anything. Thanks.

Have you gotten an official offer yet? I sent in my references yesterday and was wondering how long it takes after that.

Thanks @nurse503! I was also contacted via email for references. But I was also told in one of my interviews to start getting them ready. At that point I'd already done one interview though and had already gotten the email from the first unit I interviewed with for references. If you get more than one request from multiple units you don't do it twice. Just once. :up:

rs04, yes, I did get an offer...I got phone calls offering me a position at both Emanuel and Good Sam! I can't even believe it! I have until tomorrow evening to decide one way or another.

How many business days did it take for the offer to come once your references were complete and you sent in background check info? I'm starting to get nervous.

I got the first offer last Friday and the second yesterday. I started the background check and reference process May 5th. My references were complete the 9th and I believe my background check still had a couple things pending as of yesterday...which is why I got phone calls (sort of unofficial) and not an official letter yet.

Where'd you interview? I think they ask for references for the top 5 candidates (ranked 1 through 5) and if you haven't heard yet it's because they offered the positions to other candidates initially. But if one or more of the candidates turn down the position, they'll go down the list of other verified candidates until the spots are filled.

Has anyone heard anything at all from any ER or ICU positions? Direct contact, second interviews, gossip, anything?!
