Anyone work here? I am applying for an intership through them and wanted information. What is the Ft. Myers area like? Is it expensive? Any inforamtion would be great. Oh...what about colleges and schooling in general there. My husband is in nursing school and hopes to transfer if I get the internship and my daughter will be in 1st grade so I am concerned about the grade schools too:)

I live in the area. Can't answer you about lee memorial, but for colleges in the area there is Edison College, which is where I'm going to nursing school starting in October, and then there is also Gulf Coast University as well. As for Elementary schools you can visit the lee county schools website (see link), and you can get all the info you need on chosing the best school. We have school choice here and it's very important you register your child ASAP as soon as you get here. I've only heard talk about lee memorial, just like any where else some people love it some hate it. I have heard that of all the facilities Health Park is supposed to be the better of them. Good luck to you!

I work for LMHS and its really a great company, good with school scheduling, plenty of jobs that pay better than most hospitals in the states (non nursing wise) Im not a nurse, but majority of nurses i work with have been there many years, and those who have left came back telling stories of their new appreciation of the system. *health park is the best hospital in my opinion, ive floated to every hospital multiple times* Schools, colleges and grade schools, are great schools in the area and the prices arent so bad. Plenty of housing around the hospitals itself. If youre looking to buy a house, nows the time in our area because weve had some tough times here. Our system has been busy all year even during our so called "downtime" we were still pretty busy through that. Night shift nurses make a shift difference of $6 dollars an hour which is a lot more than what ive heard other systems hand out. Our system strives for customer service and health park hospital surely shows it in our HCAPS scores. All this information is public i believe because were non profit. I really love this system and ive been with it for 5 years now.

This is true, many of is were shocked about big bonuses handed out, but what can you do? Who cares?! But thats any big company, seriously? This is still a great system to work for. Ive never been treated with disrespect, and if someone has its taken care of. I have tons of friends in the system. The system pays for your schooling as long as you can work for them afterwards and we have a great PTO rate.

I went to school here since 6th grade, there are many options for furthering kids educations with gifted/IB classes, this is K-12.

A lot of these houses have already been swept up and fixed up, there for bringing the value of homes all around it up higher.

Im in the process of buying a home now, so i really have no say in this yet. Im pretty sure its over expressed like everything else this person wrote.
