have been a nurse for almost 4 years now. I've worked med-surg, LTC, and physicians offices. I started my new job 2 months ago and I hate it. The nurses eat their young and everyone is just so hateful. And to top it off, I only make 12 bucks an hour....the pay in my area sucks. I'm never been so broke in my life. I want out of nursing. I am burned out to the core. Has anyone successfully left nursing? I've been thinking about doing physical therapy, as it seems interesting and the most PTA's I've come in contact with appear to happy and not stressed out like us nurses. I'm 22 years old and I feel like it's now or never in regards to a career. Any advice appreciated:)

How is it that you are a nurse with 4 years of experience at the age of 22?

Maybe the OP completed an LPN program at age 18. Hopefully he/she will respond to provide some clarification.

I will bite...and give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the OP completed an LPN program at age 18. Hopefully he/she will respond to provide some clarification.
that would probably explain the low pay, but even LPN's make more than $12/hr.
