I don't see why you couldn't.

But why would you? From your previous posts, you are in a union. So you must have some benefit plan in place.

Are you on disability leave or still on sick leave?

I'd look for a new job and keep collecting my benefits until they run out.

Do you have an EAP you can take advantage of?

You can find information about length of sick leave in your union contract. If you plan to use all of your sick leave and quit, then your current employer will tell any potential employers, who call for a reference, that you are not eligible for rehire.

okey that's it

I am not planning to use all of my sick days. I just wanna move on once I found a new job.

Am I correct in my understanding that your plan is to search for a new employer while you are on paid sick leave with your current employer?

Dishes: read the OPs previous threads. It seems for the greater part of a year, they have had issues with their employer.
