Least Competitive Nursing schools

Published

Hello, I'm currently on my second year of nursing school at UT Arlington. My overall is a 3.5 and science 3.0 and I apply end of this semester. I probably won't get in with that gpa and I am looking for another school to apply to anywhere in the region. Most schools I've looked at require more pre reqs and a new standardized test. Is there a school in Texas/Oklahoma that would accept me without requiring an extra semester. Thanks.

My former coworker, who lives in Arlington, had been rejected from UT Arlington's nursing program with a 2.8 GPA but was accepted by Tarleton State.

Other less competitive schools with nursing programs include Southwestern Adventist Univ (Keene, TX), TCU (Fort Worth, TX), Murray State College (Tishomongo, OK), UT Tyler (Tyler, TX) and Stephen F Austin State Univ (Nacogdoches, TX).

Where is Tarleton State?

Don't you have to take a pre req at tarelton to get in they're program

I am not sure. I was hoping to get more information about the school

I don't know the answer to this question. However, if you are required to take a prereq through Tarleton, that could easily be accomplished in a semester or less.

Hello fursans are you already in the program if so then why are you looking for another nursing school?

The poster to whom you are asking this question has not posted anything since last year, so an expedient reply from him/her is unlikely.

It appears, from the posting history, that this person attends UT Arlington and is attempting to get accepted into the nursing program. Many people say "I am in nursing school" when they're not actually accepted into the nursing program, but just completing the prerequisite coursework and seeking admission.

It's in the case I don't get admitted, only about 15% are. I was hoping to apply somewhere less competitive as well.

I do t U derstand but you said you are already in the program?
