OK, in 3 1/2 more weeks I am finally DONE with all my pre-reqs....yay!!!!

I am hoping with all my might that I get accepted. My cum. GPA is 3.6, but my pre-req GPA (currently) 4.0. With GPA & phlebotomy, I'll have 142 points. If they accept my volunteer hours, I should have 152 points. I hope that's enough to get in. Last year's cut off was 141.
Yay! I've been busy getting titer pulls since unfortunetly my mom kept good records but a few pieces are missing... I already own a stethoscope, but I was curious how much the scrubs were. If it takes that long for them to arrive I want to go and buy some! I was just wondering how much money to expect to bring with me! :) Good luck in hopefully getting switched!
Katrina, I might have to do the same thing for proof of MMR vaccination. My dad was in the military when I was a kid and they lost my vaccine records 3 times. I've had all my vaccines 3 times over! So, I've got what little is left of my records and I'm going to get titers run for the rest of it.
The scrubs were $13 for the tops and $12 for the bottoms, so $25 for a complete set (included the embroidering). They did have some others that were less expensive, but I went with the style I liked when I tried on all the options. They give you a student discount when you make your purchase, so it knocks another $2.50 off the price. Not bad. Just remember that the Student Nurse Association is having a used scrub sale the day of our Orientation right before Fall semester starts. You can get them even cheaper there. So, you might only want to buy 1 set and get the rest used if cost is a factor.
If it wasn't for the stethoscope, I would have only spent $94 (3 sets of scrubs, medimeter, penlight & scissors). I spent $209 total.

Oh ok, perfect!! Yea, I ended up getting the stethescope as a birthday gift , luckily! That's WAY cheaper than I thought! So they had different styles to choose from? That's exciting! I work at Sparrow and the scrubs we needed to buy for them, were more expensive. I'll have to run in and check it out! Thanks!
Do you know if the pants are drawstring or elastic?
They have 1 option that is elastic only, one that it drawstring only and 2 that are a combination of elastic in the back and drawstring in the front. I felt the combo style was the most comfortable when I tried each of the options.
There are also different leg styles, such as flare, boot-cut, straight leg, etc. I went with the boot-cut combo style pant.
Not sure if you've seen the new link on the Accepted Student page, but we have yet another background check we have to run besides iCHAT. We'll get an e-mail from the nursing department when we're supposed to do it. Costs $50, though
It doesn't really look like a background check. Instead it is a tool that will be used to make sure we are up to date with our HIPPA and other testing and aid in the placement during clinical.

It would have been nice to know up front. Yet more $$ to spend....but happy that I'm in the position to do this. Can't wait for August orientation
Good luck to you all! Don't freak out during orientation, they will run down a list of all the things that will get you kicked from the program. It will seem overwhelming and you'll have a "what have I gotten myself into" moment, but it will pass. My advice as a recent graduate: record the lectures and follow the syllabi, save you it can. You can do this!
