LCC 2013 Applicant Roll Call

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

OK, in 3 1/2 more weeks I am finally DONE with all my pre-reqs....yay!!!! :D

Who else is applying in January? (March 1st deadline)

I am hoping with all my might that I get accepted. My cum. GPA is 3.6, but my pre-req GPA (currently) 4.0. With GPA & phlebotomy, I'll have 142 points. If they accept my volunteer hours, I should have 152 points. I hope that's enough to get in. Last year's cut off was 141.

Who else out there is applying?

I was accepted, but I didn't get the 2 year program. I got the 3 year Fall. I'm just happy I got in! Hopefully, I can transfer into the full time program if a seat opens up.

YAY!!! The wait is finally over!!! I'm going to go to the orientation on May 2nd :D

You guys are my future classmates, I just got in for Fall also!!! Super excited, I will be attending the May 6th orientation :) Congrats everyone and those that do not know yet, good luck!

I read the congratulations part and stopped reading lol... We only have to send the email for them to hold our seats for the Fall. The date did scare me a bit also :roflmao: I haven't done that yet (yikes)

YAY, Evan!!!! I'll see you at orientation.

Hey, we should figure out a way for all of us to meet at orientation. It would be great to put names & faces together :D

OK, orientation is day after tomorrow (for those of us going on May 2nd 3:00 PM)

Anyone in the 3-Year track? I've asked to move in to the 2-Year track if someone drops their seat. Hoping to get switched! Looking forward to meeting everyone and putting faces with names. I know we'll be doing student introductions, so make sure you say you're a member of the All Nurses board so we can find each other

Can't wait for Thursday! So excited to kick off nursing school!!!

How was the orientation? I am attending the one on Monday.

Very informative! They gave us all the paperwork we'll need to turn in by July 7th (vaccination records, latex sensitivity, Hep B & Background check).

I went to Uniform Center in Frandor and ordered my nursing school scrubs today :D I also bought my stethoscope (Littman Classic SE II), medimeter, penlight & scissors. Spent $209 total (bought 3 sets of scrubs plus the equipment listed above). They said my scrubs will arrive in 3 weeks. I just wanted to get everything ordered before the big rush before the Fall semester.

I'm so excited! They said the Accepted Student site will be updated by May 24th with the final list of who is in which track and the order of the alternates. They give you an orange sheet to fill out to say if you want to stay in your current track or switch to a different one. I was put in the 3 Year track in my acceptance letter, but requested to move to the Fall 2 Year track. Hopefully, I can get switched!! :D

Going to the orientation really made it sink in...this is REALLY happening! :D :D :D

Good luck to those of you starting the program.

I graduate the 2 year program in 8 days 9 hrs (not that I'm counting down), and it's been a heck of a ride.

Once you're in, don't stress about grades; just do your best. There will be classes you will not get a 4.0 or a 3.5 in, other's you'll wonder if it can really be that easy. Clinical paperwork sucks, it's supposed to; but if I can survive, you can.

Yeah I look forward to orientation tomorrow :) I am glad that it is way before the semester starts so that it gives us adequate time to prepare...Padawan- congrats on graduating and good luck luck on your nclex :)

So, what did you think? 2 of my friends got accepted and they went to orientation today. We're all hoping we can get switched into the same cohort!

Yay! I've been busy getting titer pulls since unfortunetly my mom kept good records but a few pieces are missing... I already own a stethoscope, but I was curious how much the scrubs were. If it takes that long for them to arrive I want to go and buy some! I was just wondering how much money to expect to bring with me! :) Good luck in hopefully getting switched!
