I was surprised to see no one has started a thread for this semester. This was my first time applying for nursing school—anyone else?

Me! Submitted the application on 8/5/19.
Hello! Do you mind my asking if you applied anywhere else?
No. But I am going to apply for other schools soon. Cerritos, Cypress, and Rio Hondo College. What about you?

Hello! I’m surprised that barely anyone message on this thread. I’m applying to LBCC, Rio Hondo, Santa Ana, and CSULB for spring semester. The wait is killing me

I know, this is the least interested school thread I’ve encountered. Although, I’ve noticed that this application round is less communicative for all the schools I’ve been following on here—compared to prior semesters. I applied here obviously, and at CSULB as well as Golden West. I have a feeling my chances are worse getting in at LBCC because they admit so few students. How many points did you get for CSULB?

I have 9.16 points for CSULB. I know it is kind of low but hey doesn’t hurt to try. Plus, if I don’t get in I can always do their bridge program with LBCC or Santa Ana. Well, I think LBCC admits the same amount of people as CSULB. Nonetheless, I am still nervous for all the school I’m applying to. How many points do you have for CSULB?

Don’t feel bad—I actually had almost the same exact number of points as you until I redid the TEAS at PSI this past week. Now I have 9.726. Is it too late for you to retake it?
So LBCC’s website says it only takes 40 students, 20 from my GPA range, while CSULB I believe takes around 84 students. You have a better chance considering it’s spring as well. Previous years you’d get in for sure—last year was the exception. I don’t know if it’s going to continue to get exponentially harder.

Yeah I think it’s too late since application are due on the 10th. But, yeah I heard spring semester was easier so fingers crossed. But, you with a 9.726! That’s amazing. You will definitely make it to the interviews.
Wow, only 40 at LBCC? I thought it was more. Oh and what do you mean by 20 from the gpa range?

LBCC’s website says it selects students from different GPA’s. I am trying to remember so forgive me if the ranges I put are a little off. I think it was 50% of the applicants from the GPA range 3.5-4.0, 25% from 3.0-3.4, and 25% from 2.5-2.9. I think it is refreshing that they don’t just take people with the highest grades because great students can get less than perfect scores for any number of reasons. But, the small cohort combined with limits to your gpa category do make the odds slimmer for everyone applying.
Sorry, I just found it the link I was looking for. My numbers were off.

It appears that students who have a GPA of exactly 3.5 will have the greatest chance getting in than any other GPA since they are entered into 2 different lotteries (3.5-4.0 and 3.0-3.5).

Does anyone know when they will send out the acceptance letter for spring 2020?
