Lawson State Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone!!!

Has anyone applied for Lawson State Community College Fall Nursing Program?

How long does it usually take to find out if you've been accepted?

I received a letter today for the LPN program, but Im confused bc I didnt apply for the LPN program. I originally applied for the ADN night program. I guess this is a nice way of saying "Hey you didn't get into the ADN program but you can definitely be in our LPN class", lol! Issue is, I work full time and the LPN program is a day program so I guess I will try again next fall. No worries.

I was able to login but my degree plan still say prenursing. Its the same nothing has changed I haven't received a letter. How many points did you all have.

How many points did u have. I haven't received anything. My degree plan is still the same. I wonder if that mean. Well I'm staying positive until other wise.

I got in to the Bessemer Campus evening program!!!! Congrats to everyone and I'm sorry to the ones that didn't make this cut, that just means that something better is coming along..

How many points did you have. I'm starting to worry because my student suite has not changed nor have I gotten a letter.

Hey, did you apply for bessemer because they do have a night program for lpn? But I was done the same way and I am pretty much in your same shoes. But my coworkers are all wanting me to go for it because it is a step closer to what I want.

I only applied to the evening ADN program Bessemer campus. I am going to call in the morning and see if I can get some clarification. I will update in here after I talk to someone. I didnt think they had an evening lpn program.

Hey, So I am guessing your name is Brandi........ SO is mine. I get home and open my letter it says bessemer/night. I never even applied to that program or school. I know I applied to birmingham/day. I think they may have us mixed up.....Im calling first thing in the morning cause I am just as confused as you.

Yep Im Brandi C. This is very interesting. Ok. keep us posted as will I.

I had 183 points with a 3.8 GPA... Still no news or changes?!?!

So i went and talked to the nursing department today. And she said the cut off for the RN was 152 and any thing falling close to that got offered the LPN program. Its considered their secondary option because you only have a extra semester to finish LPN . Because the RN program is five semester and the LPN to RN is six. If you were to accept the LPN you would finish god willing next Aug. And be guaranteed a spot in the RN mobility program which they only allow Lawson LPN graduates in and would start that January.
