Hi Guys!!
I’m getting ready to start the nursing application for LAVC. They ask us to “mail” our transcripts I’m but I’m wondering if e-transcripts are just as good? It’s still being send out from one campus go LAVC Admissions’ office... just not physically, ya know? Haha
Let me know if y’all had an experience with this!

I mailed my transcripts but I am sure as long as you had the official transcripts evaluated by the counselor then you will be fine. Have you heard anything/updates with when we will hear back?
Good luck!
I barely got an appointment with a counselor because LAVC lost all of my transcripts & I had to resend them.
Not really sure what’s happening though. Kinda sucks
Oh no! Well I am glad you were able to get an appointment. It is definitely a hectic time but thank gosh you were able to have them resent and evaluated by a counselor. Did you turn in the online application already too?
Unfortunately I can’t send the application until having the transcript eval. Did you get cleared by a counselor? ?
Yes, I e-mailed the counseling department and was able to get in an appointment (via phone call) for that day. They counselor will do your pre-requisite evaluation form while you are on the phone and then you are good to apply.
Sounds good! I will apply on May 4 & then get back to you! I wish ya the very best during these times. I’m scared of them canceling this application window altogether because of Covid-19.
Have you taken your TEAS?
Good luck to you too! Everything is very unpredictable due to COVID-19 but I do not think they will cancel this application window. I have heard that most nursing schools are accepting for Fall 2020 but in their acceptance letters they are noting that the cohort may start Spring 2021. Considering most current nursing students cannot complete their clinical hours, they will have to finish them once the virus is under control which means they cannot start new students until then. Many applications have paused their Spring 2021 application cycle since it is uncertain when the Fall 2020 cohort will even start or past cohorts will even officially graduate.
Yes, I took my TEAS in January! Have you?
That sounds a lot better than just not letting us apply. My friend is in COC’s nursing program and her professors told her they may not accept anyone for the next 2 semesters because every current student could potentially be behind and not graduate on time.
Did you apply to any other programs?
I had planned to take the TEAS in mid-March but then it got canceled! I tried again for April and it was canceled as well. ?
Oh my, if that happens that will be such a bummer.
I applied to a couple other programs in LA and I also applied to COC.
Yikes, I have no idea what is going to happen. I wish the updates would be more transparent and they let us know that they might be not accepting students for at least a year. If that is the case a lot of us need to plan for that change and delay because our careers/futures depend on this.
I know some states are allowing proctored TEAS exams via online. I would look at other schools/state that are offering that and sign up through that so you can at least take it and then send it to the schools you have applied for. I doubt that they will be doing an in-person exams anytime soon due to social distancing guidelines.

So far I have received updates from GCC and COC for invitation to takes the TEAS online and in person at the end of the month. Their emails set the intention that they are continuing accepting applicants for the Fall 2020 cohort. I know LAVC's application period ended on 5/15, and that online application process wasn't too bad.
So far Pierce and LAVC are the two schools that are kind of leaving people in the dark as far as information goes.

I only applied to COC, GCC & LAVC. I got invited to take the TEAS for COC and GCC... haven’t heard anything from LAVC. I did read somewhere that after the application deadline, it could take up to 2 months for them to get back to us with information. Luckily by then we will have a TEAS score.
I'm also debating if I want to defer my GCC application and just take the TEAS with COC on June 5th. I’m 8 months pregnant and also an extra week of studying wouldn’t hurt LOL.
