Hi everyone!
I'm starting this thread for students who applied to LAVC for the fall 2015 cohort! Who else is with me during this intense waiting period? What were your stats when you applied (Overall GPA, prerequisite GPA and TEAS score) let's all be motivators for one another to help us get through this agonizing wait to become RNs!!!! Rooting for all of us!
I was told by a student worker that the office that if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available seat, then a lottery is done. My friend was one of the first 50 students to apply and she was offered a seat before my date (invite) to take the teas... This was spring. She got her offer way before my invite to take the teas... Soooo there's something fishy around here
The application ( along with the evaluation form signed by a counselor), and the TEAS is everything you need. You don't have to send in any transcripts since you took your classes within laccd you are right. They probably couldn't help verify that your file was complete because there's only one lady there that can do it and she's not always available:
So you never were evaluated by a counselor? Or is this your second time applying? This is my second time applying so they didn't need my signed evaluation sheet again. They had it on file. I'm not sure what they could have meant by having it online, as a counselor must evaluate you to make sure all classes have been completed in order to apply for the program...

Yeah that's the cut score though.. From what the lavc counselor told me, it's all an even playing field for those who qualify. Unlike pierce and other schools that go by points system. But I could be wrong. I've applied to so many schools that my understanding of everything could be one big blurry mess lol. However they do it, I wish they'd speed it up a little
