LASW, LACC, LAHC, LA pierce - Fall 2019

Hello everyone, I am applying to 4 different programs in Fall 2019. Does anyone here in the same boat with me? Lets get to know each other and share your experience. Good luck to all of you.

Why is CONAH nor Pierce (etc.) not ACEN accredited? Valley and some others are though. However, a lot of reputable ones aren’t. This is really disappointing. I really thought CONAH would be ACEN accredited.

Is anyone waiting for a TEAS invite from LAVC ? Any updates if they have started accepting?

UPDATE:

I called this morning to confirm they received my TEAS score, & they immediately offered me a spot into their nursing program.

Congrats to all those accepted! I can't wait to meet you all!! Finally some great news!!

Did they send you an official offer via email? I have received nothing. I think I got denied.

Congrats to those whom got in!!

I got into LA County Allied, but it’s not ACEN accredited so I’m a bit bummed.

No, I haven't gotten an official e-mail yet... but they asked me to come in today to pick up the acceptance nursing packet.

What number did you call? I just called 818 947 2559 and the lady said she couldn’t look anything up and to keep waiting.

That's the # I called as well... But they called me on Friday & asked to send them my TEAS results... I'm not really sure what the protocol is to be honest...

84% on my first attempt and then 87.3% on my second attempt but they only accept first try... so I sent the first attempt score... what about you?

There are only 25 ACEN accredited -AA- programs in California. This is low compared to how many AA/2 yr programs there actually are.

Is anyone concerned about going to non-ACEN accredited school?

I know Cal State LA is accredited for their BSN program but doesn’t it mostly matter where we earn our RN from?

Just thinking out loud.

Thoughts?
