Last semester of pre-reqs are kicking my butt!

I just needed a place to vent. I've been in school for only a week and I already feel like my head is going to explode. This is my last semester before going into nursing for the fall so I'm trying to salvage my 3.6 GPA.

Chem - Not much to say, just hard! First test is next week :crying2:

Sociology - The only class that isn't giving me any problems, great professor! Very interesting.

Physiology - It's not too hard but I'm killing myself trying to remember some of the stuff I learned in Anatomy last semester. There's no lab component so it's all lecture. Very interesting, but so much info.

Developmental Psych II - This is the class I hate going to every day. They switched the professors last minute. This class is NOTHING like the first part of the class because she doesn't teach it the way it's suppose to be taught. The professor is an old lady who is VERY judgemental, stuck in her ways (ie: this is how we did it when I was growing up) she's anti-medicine, hates the textbook, criticizes doctors, nurses ect. tells us everyday how much we're poisoning our bodies with fast food and I'm just tired of her preaching. She's not in the medical field btw. She gave us something to read on alternative medicine (which really don't pertain to the class) and then asked us to discuss it. So we do and she is quick to say how we are mistaken because she knows the doctors whose articles she picked personally and knows this is what they mean. Most of the class can't stand her but I'm sure she's got that good ole' tenure. One of our assignments is a retirement speech which just throws me off completely when I've never had a job. Sigh she just stresses me out.

ahhh, you can definitely learn something in that dev class...patience and tolerance.

Don't let her get to you, let it go in one ear and out the other. You're going to run into plenty of people like her in your life.

I feel for you as far as the Psych teacher. I doubt if you can get through school without getting at least one professor like that. Let me tell you about mine. She was an English lit prof. When she showed up first day for class half the people dropped out. They knew her and were upset that the prof. listed was different from the one that showed up. They said she was a rotten teacher but I decided to stick it out. The thing that bugged me the most about her was that she used to complain about people not showing up for class and punish you if you didn't. However, she was an avid skier and would take off on skiing trips on and miss classes. I remember on several instances driving in during a snow storm and finding she wasn't there because she was off skiing. You know what, you have to ask yourself "how bad do I want this, enough to put up with this crap"? Then you either stick it out or do what you feel you gota do. I always figured I could put up with a lot for a few weeks.

Developmental pysch is super boring... Like I want to kill myself everyday when I am in that class. I rather be in a physic class or something.

You're already in nursing school; be happy. I would be stoked if i was already in and only taking joke classes. Instead, I am also taking psych lifespan (it's a joke), but I won't know if I am in for another 4 months.

Oh I know I'll meet some trying people. This is my first run-in with a difficult (I know everything) professor so it caught me off guard, but I'm just going to bite my tongue and do what I need to do to pass lol. What upset me in particular is that it wasn't the professor that was listed.
