I went in to work at 7:30 pm, and left this morning at 8:00am.... and let me tell you, my first night was not as bad as I thought it would be.
As a CNA I always worked day shift, and never thought I would make it thru one night.... and I did!
The night was very busy, and after 4am things calmed down, including my body... and I desperately wanted rest, but since all the work was done, my preceptor told me to relax, go on the internet, read a magazine.... I was like "OMG, I would never do this during the day"
The night was awesome, I love that hospital. Only 4 patients!
I loved working, the patients were great! ages 9-16, and I can't wait to see my paycheck too!

Yes, nights are more relaxed. Just don't get too comfy and relax too much! I am not a night person at all I did it for about 90 days and every night at 10:30 when I went to leave I got sleep envy that my family was getting ready and snuggling into be for the night. I can pick up and do a couple of shifts to help out but not full time. Glad there are those that LOVE it so I don't have to have sleep envy!

I'm looking forward to nights. I have not ever been a morning person (oh I dread the day I have kids!) and there is nothing more that I desire than a job that actually encourages me to stay up all night!! The worst was at my old job: I'd stay up way too late on my nights off, then when it was time to go to bed early to get up for work the next day, I couldn't sleep! I'd always go in on about 5 hours of sleep and it was the terrible.
Yay for night shifts!!
