lasix bid: how close can u take this 8am & 4pm?

Pt complains of freq night urination. Lasix bid. He takes 8am & then 7pm. I believe the 7 is too late, can he take 2nd dose at 4:30 instead of 7pm

That should be fine, however you should verify this with the patient's physician. At my facility, BID Lasix is given at 0800 and 1600, for this reason.

Where I work we have "standard" med times common amongst all the facilities in the area. Lasix BID is always at 0900 and 1600.

At the hospital, it is sometimes scheduled for 0900 and 1700, so I'm sure that would be fine and would be better for the patient too.

Make sure the patient can tolerate a longer period between dosages and not go into failure.
