Hey is there anyone who will be applying to Lasalle Univeristy Achieve BSN Program for fall 2016?

I plan on applying to the Achieve program for Fall 2016! Would love to chat sometime. Where are you completing your pre-reqs?

I have thought about it, and La Salle was at the top of my list, but their low NCLEX scores are a huge concern for me. Has anyone heard an official response from the school on whether or not they will lose their accreditation?

As a LaSalle alumni, one of the elephants in the room of rumors when I went there is that most ACHIEVERs do pass the NCLEX the first time and the concerning issue is that it takes the generic program and the ACHIEVE cohorts together; the generic program has struggled; to my knowledge at least my cohort of 50 passed the NCLEX the first time-and that was verified through the states BON website.

As of their current status, LaSalle is still a CCNE approved program:

For what it's worth, ACHIEVE is an excellent program and has many instructors that have ties to many of the area hospitals who LOVE and hire alumni, especially from the ACHIEVE program because of our reputation in clinicals and the exemplary instructors who teach, and the community outreach that embodies the Lasallian values.

Every time I went on an interview, being a part of the ACHIEVE program has opened doors for me. :)

Yeah, this wouldn't be the first time that I have heard this. It still makes deciding to go here difficult because that is a lot of money to possibly go down the drain :(. It's unfortunate that each program cannot be "graded" separately.

I'm here! I'm so glad I can talk to some people trying to get in as well. I have three more prerequisites to go and I'm applying in the spring.

Oh, and I know someone in the ACHIEVE program now, and he says they have really ramped up the amount of NCLEX style questions they need to answer on a recurring basis.

Goddess9 I'd love to chat sometime about the la sale process, etc. I'm in the process of apying for fall 2016, still doing lots of pre Reqs.

The thing is, their accreditation is still in good standing and that's due to the fact that they have a good program and evidence of that, as well as an actual root cause analysis that they have been working on for five years and counting; if they were going to lose their accreditation-they would've already, and even then, their reputation precedes them enough that people STILL will choose a La Sallian candidate-I got a job within six months post licensure , which is good in this area for BSN students, most cohorts had one within that time frame or less.

Best investment I made.

The program seems to be struggling with figuring out ways to increase their NCLEX pass rates and their current solution is to dismiss students who don't achieve a 2.75 EACH SEMESTER. If you have a solid cumulative GPA (even if you have a 3.5) but have one semester where you receive less than a 2.75 (which is possible even passing both classes) in the two classes, you will be dismissed. They do generally allow students one semester "probation" but the policy is very poorly thought out and I have been saddened to see multiple students who will make fantastic nurses have to leave the program and go elsewhere. I caution anyone considering this program for the time being. Once they are able to get their NCLEX pass rates up and are off probation i'd like to think they will start focusing on ensuring their students succeeed rather than just allowing the top top students to even progress and take the NCLEX. I am looking to transfer as I have been disheartened to see how the administration has handled mutliple concerns from fellow students. I would suggest Neumann to anyone looking for a night program.

When are people applying?
