Langara January 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has thought about applying for the Jan 2018 intake yet? I'm finishing up my second A&P credit, as well as Stats, and currently am sitting at a 3.5 GPA with the 2 English and 1st A&P prereqs. Worst case, with the two final classes, it will drop down to between 3.4-3.3. I do have a Bachelor's in Psych and English, but my GPA from that was far less than stellar, so I'm hoping they don't look into those grades at all.

I'm panicking a bit though, as I don't have many options aside from Langara. I didn't plan on nursing at all up until like last year (hooray for useless Arts Degrees), so I don't have volunteer hours or any of the high school pre-reqs like Chem and Math. Also, I can't afford to wait any longer to get this going.

Does anyone know the GPA cutoff for the last few intakes? I keep reading that nothing less than 3.6 will get in, and if by some miracle I ace Stats and A&P II, I'll barely hit that at 3.67.

I hope that the presence of a degree will help but this high GPA cutoff has me really nervous.

Any and all answers are appreciated :)

I got my acceptance email a couple days ago as well! I applied with a previous degree.

Good luck to everyone else and hope to meet you all soon :)

If you guys get accepted is it okay if you guys share your gpa! What's the lowest gpa that got in so far? 3.58?

I applied with a pre-req gpa of 4.13.

Ive been accepted into Spring 2018!!!!!! Probably wont be doing Langara.... rather hold off for Douglas.... already finished first year at Doug.... Lang is 3 semesters longer.... does not seem worth it!

however, this was my first time applying at Langara, applied a few months ago, i have no degree and a 3.64 gpa ♡

How were you contacted if not by email?

Is there a Facebook group created yet for the Jan 2018 intake?

I was sent an email this morning, and then accepted the offer. I then received the email outlining the next steps...

Hi everyone! I've also been accepted into the program ^^ my GPA of the 5 courses was 3.67

So, I contacted Langara today since I haven't received an update about my status yet, and they said that Langara Admissions is sending out waitlist and acceptance offers in waves within the next three weeks. They're not sure how they're sending them out though (from lowest GPA to highest or vice versa).

I'm still feeling super nervous and awful. :(

Keep your head up. I spoke to an advisor and they said to wait until July 18th.

Hey, are you able to send me some docs for the five courses for the first semester just so I could get a head start please? Thank you!

Are you applying for both of Langara and BCIT? I have accepted the offer from Langara but not sure if I should apply to BCIT. I am taking LIBS 7001 and 7021 at BCIT now. With other fees, $2000 in which $1500 is tuition, is the cost I have spent in my pursuit of entering BCIT. A dilemma is in front of me. I have been rejected once. If rejected again, I need to wait one year to get things settle down.
