  1. I know this is a long shot but here it goes.... I am in search on a contact whom is currently in the BSN program. I join 2019 and I really want to pre study for the pharmacology. I am a single mom, hands quite full, and usually pre study before semesters. Does anyone have a pharmacology course outline? I have a pharma book... wondering if there is a course outline out there?! Hopeful thanks, Love2bug
  2. Psyc nursing doesn't fill up as fast, I'd go to "apply now BC" as they may still have the Psyc nursing application ability all year. I know last year there was the ability to apply all year round. I applied while in my last semester of Academic Foundations. I will still able to apply, but I did not get a seat for that fall. Once I completed my pre-reqs, i then applied for the winter term, and was accepted. Apply to the first term you can, as a lot of students only applied to psych as a back up to general nursing. There are a large amount of seats dropped as opposed to Gen so you most likely won't be waiting for 2 years like us gens...
  3. Hey! You may get an email yet do not worry! As of intake Winter 2019, ALL foundations students who satisfied minimum GPA will be considered FIRST above students not from Doug, regardless of GPA. If they have 35 spots and 50 applicants who finished their foundations; GPA is taken into consideration. They sent out an email outlining this about a year ago, and added to their website. Rosemarie literally just started sending emails out; my application is still untouched on Myaccount; however Rosemarie confirmed yesterday by next week all apps should be updated! Good luck!!!!
  4. I know it's been a while, but have you applied anywhere Kristina?
  5. Hello! I received my acceptance on Monday, March 12th. I finished Winter 2017 with 3.64 (I think) GPA. I wish they had the foundations students as priority this whole time, kinda feel they had a really bad system of band wagon jumpers that clogged it for us tru DOUGS! Cannot wait to see everyone in January!
  6. Hello! I was accepted (recently withdrew my seat- going to BSN) But I crept this forum to find out my chances so perhaps this will help someone: I finished my foundation cert as Winter 2017 cane to a close. I was accepted for Fall 2018, and winter 2019. I had a 3.64 GPA and no prior degree. Enjoy your program! Psych is fascinating. Congrats.
  7. when did you finish pre reqs?
  8. I applied with 3.64 . finished Winter 2017. already acceptéd to Psyc 2018 Winter and fall but deperatley holding out for bsn!!! it doesnt even show m'y pre reqs in m'y application yet ...
  9. m'y seat is up for grabs Douglas or bust
  10. Ive applied for Fall. 3.64 GPA, pre reqs done Winter 2017. Ive just dropped m'y Winter 2018 psych nurse seat, and a Winter 2017 langara bsn seat in hopes To be acceptéd To Douglas RN... When did everyone finish their académic fondations?
  11. Thank you for sharing that Dcarter94, alot of me is in a similar boat motive wise.... Is it just me or does the restructure of this program appear heavy and intimidating in the first few semesters? Seems like a bucket load of credits for one semester :S
  12. I applied for Fall 2017 and was put on the waitlist! Honestly, General Nursing has always been my interest, until doing Psych courses at Douglas. Mental Health is so underlooked and in my opinion it is a good area of Nursing for hours and full time job availability after graduation (from what Ive heard)... I've also been accepted to Langara for Jan 2018.... but was ultimatley holding out for Douglas BSN. Still on the fence... but Psych nursing is what I want to do, just unsure if doimg RN and working in mental health would be wiser... How about yourself? Why did you chose Psych?
  13. I was sent an email this morning, and then accepted the offer. I then received the email outlining the next steps...
  14. I hope this may be of use for some of you to go on: I applied at Langara in May 2017 to the Jan 2018 (Spring) intake. I was accepted at 3.64 GPA and only applied with 30 credits. (Doug Academic Foundations). I have no prior university degree. Best of luck to everyone ♡
  15. sorrry on the delay! i did also apply for fall, however my last semester of foundations was winter 2017....
