Hello Aadams91,

I also got my TEAS invitation, last thursday!
I got my book thru the ATI website and went over to barnes and nobles and purchased the Prep Plus Second edition by Kaplan. I have been studying only the science section and going over everything and just writing notes and rewriting important concepts... once i am done i will intent the practice exams!

Seriously good luck! I know what it feels like to be so excited and studying but yet stressed out!

congrats! I have the ATI's study manual and "ATI secret study guide" which is highly suggested by almost all pre-nursing students who have taken the teas that have made youtube videos on what to expect for the exam! I suggest learning as much as you can and only use the books as a "guide" because they don't go into much depth with all the systems.. its like 1-2 pages of eachsystem which isn't enough information!!:(

the 50/50 is after the TEAS results. They add up each student's points to see who has the highest, then they do lottery for the other half of students.

only 20 students are point system and the other 20 are lottery. If a student has the minimum of 62% theyre still able to get in just depends on if they are picked from point system or lottery.

@Aadams91 Thanks for replying. That's interesting... But then I wonder how they determined who got a TEAS invite, because I know they only have a select few spots to take the TEAS there. I guess I'm just getting a little nervous. My points were good, but I don't know if they were good enough.

There were about 400 applicants give or take. If there are more than 100 eligable applicants, they randomly select 100. Then out of that random 100, they invite 40 to take the teas? dont quote me on the last part. Something like that lol. Basically, just be stoked that you, myself, and anyone else who got an invite because it is immensely competitive and im shocked that i even have this opportunity!!

Why are you shocked??? All of us earned this-- even some of those who weren't selected for the TEAS. I'm just thankful they're doing the 50/50 this time around, because otherwise so many deserving people get lost in the sea of applications.

For those studying. Maybe take the Ati practice test first. That way you can get the areas that you need to study on.

I'm shocked because there were so many applicants and out of everyone only a handful were picked! Ive met some pre-nursing students who have applied multiple times and are still waiting to get picked! nerve-racking lol

LATTC doesn't have deadlines or a lottery system but you do have to wait like 2yrs.

No big deal. Just two years haha. Not a bad option, but let's hope it doesn't come to that for any of us ¨̮

@Aadams91 I know a really great nurse who applied for two years before finally getting accepted to LACC. I'm sure she's not the only one, though a lot of people went the expensive route just to get through it quickly.

Well it gives time to finish other courses and keep applying for those who dont make it in.

They don't require that all courses be completed at the time you first submit your application?

Never mind. I looked it up ?
