Laguardia Community College fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I am currently waiting for laguardia to send out the acceptance letters. I applied back in February and we won't hear back anything until about July 14th . The wait is driving me crazy , iv been trying to keep my mind occupied. I have been looking for other allnurses forums to see if anyone else has applied for this 2020 fall semester. All I can find are older ones with not many replies. I got tired of waiting so I decided to start up the conversation myself ! If anyone who is applying for the 2020 LPN OR RN program sees this please comment ! LaGuardia is only taking 60 people this application period I would love to chat and see how many people are also waiting, or if anyone else is looking to exchange gpas since the TEAS won't be counted this time around .

I was ranked 32th, then they definitely not gonna call me. But you have a chance!! I wish you good luck! Yes I'm confused too, I don't really know how this works. It was so competitive this time!

Thank you so much for replying and your encouraging word. It truly was competitive this year. I was shock. I heard last year cut off was 3.2, which wasn’t so bad. I hope you well and hope next years it would be less competitive.

don't worry guys, please don't stress out so much. I heard hostos is easier and less competitive than laguardia.

good luck for your future and hope the best for u ll

I was accepted to the LPN program. I don't know what the cutoff for the LPN program was but from the people that I am in contact with that applied to the RN program, it seems you needed a 4.0 I had one friend who had an A in everything, except for an A- in Anatomy 203 and she didn't get accepted. I personally know 5 people who were accepted to the RN program and they all had an A in everything.

Hi, I also got accepted to the Lpn program for this fall. I know 60 candidates are chose but not sure how competitive it was. I think they did look at TEAS score if you already took it. I took it right before covid19 happened and did good. My GPA was OK, about 3.5.

RN program this year is very very competitive since they cut off the students.
From I know most people accepted got 4.0 and my GPA is 4.0 including the general courses like scn195, eng101 and mat120. The only person I know that got into was with GPA 3.94 with eng102 A-.

key course 2x key GPA

general course 1x GPA

total 12 ( max number)

good luck for yll

What are the key courses and requirements for Hostos? sorry to ask this, but I was checking and I don't really understand what are key courses and what are requirements for LPN. I think hostos has more key courses to complete than laGuardia right?

I;m currenly a student at hostos. I have not enjoyed my time at this school. this school is underfunded and lack alot of thing. The nursing department website lack a lot of information unlike other school. if you want to find out anything you have to email the deparment simple question that should already be posted on the websit. Email replies are short and not detailed as if its automated.

I wanted to transfer to Lagcc but I would have to take more pre-req and I'm not looking to pay to take more classes when I pay out of pocket. I'm not sure how competieve the RN/LPN program is at hostos.

Does anyone know what was the cut off GPA for lpn this year?

Same for me I'm currently at Hostos and I'm not happy at all. I hate to call this place a college it's more like a school. But I'm stuck here becaue I pay out of pocket and if I go to another school I would have to take more classes.

I agree with you this school is underfunded and lack the the ability to give students information on their website.
