Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

Hello to everyone...I have been reading this blog for months now. Does anyone have any old pharm notes they are willing to share?

This is the last normal weekday we will have in a while!

Does anybody happen to know anything about our school schedule next week? I got the schedule for pharm, but i dont even know what time class starts on monday...

Class starts at 9. The schedule is on the paper we received after our lunch break at orientation.

Oh thanks, I guess I dont have that one... does it say what time class is over? The only schedule I have with times on it is the pharm one (class starts Aug 29 at 9 and ends at 12:30). The only page I could find about the first class (Transition to Accelerated Nursing) is the one that talks about the grading scale and how you have to be at all 4 classes to get an A.

Another question... have any of you been able to access moodle yet? I got the email about setting up myportal and I followed those directions, but then it says my username or password is wrong. Thanks again

Our first class transition schedule is on back of that sheet that says what you need to get an "A".

DOH! wow! rookie mistake... I'm just getting this out of my system before next week!

I finally got into myportal also... had to email the portal administrator

LOL, join the crowd I'm the same way

MyPortal password didn't work at first either. I had to e-mail the portal administrator and it finally worked.

I am both excited and nervous about school finally starting!!!!!!

Ok please refresh my memory, what's my portal again, is this where we check our email & FA, etc ?...I'm so ready to get it started, what supplies are you bringing to class, like laptop etc?

MyPortal has everything as far as: e-mail, webservices, financial aid etc...

For the first day of class, I might only bring my binder w/ paper in it.

I'm not sure what to bring to class b/c the first week is just Transition into Accelerated Nursing.
