Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

I am good, just getting all the last minute things together before I officially move, I am getting reall excited and very nervous! Have you gotten any of your books yet? I need to but there has been so many other things that I need to take care of first

I'm also nervous and excited but I can't wait to finally start school. I haven't gotten any of my books yet.

I need to get my books ASAP.

We only have 21days left until school starts!!!!!!!

Yes, that's next on my list. I will began researching sites to see if one is cheaper.

The countdown is beginning, I want to start & finish strong!

Hey all!!

Just to let everyone know, Amazon.com is having a huge textbook sale right now. I got our Pharmacology books, brand new, all 3, for $170 dollars which is normally the price of just two of the 3 books! ALSO, you can sign up for a FREE year of Amazon Prime Student which allows for free 2 day shipping!

There is a uniform store in Metairie called Uniform Advantage. It's near Lakeside mall on Severn. They're well priced and you get a student discount.

Regarding uniforms, do we only need those for clinicals, or are those something we wear daily? I haven't ordered anything for them yet!!

Hi everyone,

Thanks Jess525

Thanks for the info regarding the pharm books & also about the uniforms.

I think we only need our uniforms for clinicals.

for those of you that still have not bought books, i bought my 3 pharm books on half.com. i took the used book (good condition) route and bought them all from the same seller "textbooks-now" to save on shipping. i also had a 10% discount that i received in an email. the discount code is [color=#333333]btsaug10a ... my total purchase for the 3 pharm books with the discount came to $130. this is just fyi stuff for my fellow penny pinchers out there... anyways, i hope you all are making the most of your remaining time before our 10 months of rigorous schooling!

What kind of "supplies" are ya'll getting for Pharm? Huge binders, notebooks, or using a laptop? I can't decide how I'm going to take notes or what I need to buy!! AH! It's so close!!

Did u get in OLOL program? How is it?

Sometimes I like to study from the powerpoint print outs instead of looking at a computer screen. I would most likely get a huge binder for my notes and powerpoints.

I don't know if I want to bring my laptop to school everyday.

I was wondering the same thing, in regards to bringing our laptop, I kinda want to see how things go the first day then get supplies that I think we will need, but it seems like we will be hitting it hard day one, so I dont know what to bring...this is so crazy, I am moving there Monday, I can not believe that it is right around the corner, especially after all the waiting!

The wait is finally over.

The first day of school is almost here.

Is everyone ready??????

WE WILL ALL START STRONG AND END STRONG TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!;):saint::yelclap:

Right On! I am so ready to get started!
